Um, I have relatives in Tennessee. I think. Apropos of nothing.
I'm just next door in AR. Go stand on your porch and wave. I'll wave back. |

I was born in Memphis and lived there a while and all my relatives live there. I'm actually going there next week. |

Is Frank Black worthy of the "Grand Ole Opry"? |

The Ryman, yes, but it's too big for the shows he likes to do. When he was here at the Exit/In, he sold it out, packed em in, and left everybody feeling like he just made sweet love to them. |

Why does he always say the people in Nashville don't like him? Did something happen there sometime? |

It could be that he uses steel guitars tastefully whereas most country wanks off on them. It could also be the 3/4 measure he likes to throw in his choruses - not condusive to line dancing.
Seriously though, I've seen Doolittle and Teenager of the Year in jukeboxes down there. They've got these cool computerized jukeboxes with a lot of freaky shit on them. I've seen them at Cafe Coco and I think The Beer Seller.

I am in Tennessee. It's listed in my profile. I'm in the northeast corner of the state.

I live in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, about 20 miles west of Knoxville. I have relatives in Nashville. I was born here, unfortunately. My city was the "Atomic City" and helped produce the atomic weapons Fatman and Little Boy that obliterated Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II, respectively. Besides that, and more than likely being the home of country legends "The Oak Ridge Boys," little good besides myself has ever come out of this city.
