hi there fello FB fans. next year after i graduate i plan to take 6-8 months off and go travelling. that means i am looking for suggestions(and couches to crash on too hehe - joking) - so anyone recommend anything fantastic? the current choices are 1. trans siberian express and 2. south america. any help here would be GREATLY appreciated. cheers

Bazza, due to your kind email regarding Dublin, I'd be happy to put you up in Beijing if you were to treck across Siberia.... a trip to China is a must for anyone. Weve had a few mates come over here for a month or two and they are still here a year later.... Beijing is a great place, so good that my two year plan here has extended to 10 years or even more (I'll be getting married out here next year and my girlfriend doesn't fancy England, so why not stay here where you can live like a king).
Once you are in Beijing you can go easily to anywhere in China, South East Asia, Australia / NZ, Russia reletively cheaply. So it is a perfect base if you are thinking about travelling. You could teach for a couple of months and make back the cost of your flight (and alot more) before moving on.
I'd be happy to meet up with any fellow FB fans and any of you are more than welcome to get in contact if you fancied a cheap holiday in Beijing (providing that none of you are axe murders).

| I worked on a kibbutz in Israel for 8 months and that was good! That said I don't know whether it's a great idea what with the situation in Israel right now... |

| 6-8 months. I would think about touring Cental America and the Carribean. Spend some time in Costa Rica and Nicraagua maybe Belize. Then, catch a ride over to one of the Carribean islands. |

There is a really rude comment here, and I am taking the mature route and resisting saying it. Needless to say, I could make a similar comment about the author of this offensive attack on my home land:

When I was in Egypt last December I wanted to visit Israel, but unfortunately we were on tenderhooks with the Egyptian customs guys (my girlfriend had been promised a visa to Egypt by the travel agency and the Egyptian embassy (she's Chinese and it is pretty difficult for Chinese people to get visas to travel), only to find out after we paid for the holiday that she couldn't get one (the lying, cheating bastards!!!).... we flew anyway and ran the risk of being kicked out of the country but were very lucky) so my girlfriend wouldn't have been able to return back into Egypt. Pity really, because despite the problems I was well up for visiting some places in Israel.

Surely you can visit Canadia, but I hear it's much cheaper to slam a fork into your hand. Both leave you with the same effect.
