Okay, so this is a bit off-kilter, but wouldnt it be sump'm if Frank and his Catholics made an album of phony TV themes? This thought came about while watching an episode of Hawaii Five-O the other day. My head formulated "I wonder if Frank would ever compose a TV theme song if approached to do so?" So, if anyone finds this idea amusing and/or topical, please chime in and state what fake show would be suited for the Big Guy. For example, I would propose the following:
TV PROGRAM TITLE: Space Ark CATEGORY: Sci-Fi/Young Adult SYNOPSIS: A wayward scientist travels the milky way collecting zany space animals. Each week sees Dr. Talte enduring hilarious and positive thought provoking adventures. STAR(S): Andrew McCarthy Garry Collins (Voice only) ERA: (as in when faux show was produced) 1990's NETWORK/TIMESLOT: N/A ADDITIONAL NOTE: This series was proposed for UPN and a pilot was produced. Strangely and for unknown reasons, the product was promptly shelved. SONG TITLE: Borealis Crush Of course, there should be no linear time-line, since this is all abject fantasy...so be creative! And offer new ideas for this topic...or trash it if you hate it! It was just a whim, but I'll keep checking in to reap what I have sown!

Bohemoth! This I did not know! Cool fact. I'm still waiting for someone to indulge me with theoretical theme theories...

His cover of the theme song from One Step Beyond is great!
I think there's a copy of it somewhere in the FTP...

Were they showing MST3K on sci-fi when you watched it alot? That has to be the greatest show ever. I wish the episodes they released on DVD were less than 15-18 bucks a pop.

TV PROGRAM TITLE: The Classifieds CATEGORY: Supernatural mystery SYNOPSIS: Brisbane and Foster, a pair of down-on-their-luck newsmen, are drawn into bizarre adventures by Brisbane's ex-wife, who has a knack for finding trouble in a supernatural vein. STAR(S): MIchael York, Frank Whaley, Tyne Daly ERA: Fall 2000 NETWORK/TIMESLOT: CBS, Friday nights @ 10 ADDITIONAL NOTE: Though the darling of critics, this series failed to find an audience and lasted only 13 episodes. SONG TITLE: Wading the Ether
Kill it with your shoe.

Leave it to that whacky Tyne Daly to chill our veins! She is the perfect subject for a FB & C's song...thanks for playing along Tic Tac! I dont see how Frank could turn down an opprotunity to bless this likely series with a memorable theme song. Duh! What am I saying? He didnt turn it down! Wading the Ether shot straight up the charts where it stayed consistant for THREE weeks! Wow. Way to go Frank. We've all wondered what it would be like if Frank was popular. Now we know. It took a failed series in the Television industry to bring him to the masses.
Who's next with an idea?

I would sever an appendage for a complete 250 disk DVD box set of MST3K. |

neon repairmen in las vegas -radio dispatched -24 hour on call
show is called 'sign age' or 'signs of life' seedy underbelly of neon illumination in city of sin -very david lynch with powerful story of fallen grace to redemption and back -er whatever... they (partners in repair) end upgetting involved with something that has to do with UFO's and OSHA safety standards -latter part of series turns into russ meyer supervixens type chase scene -amazon women in dune buggies and porsches beating up mullet-headed macho boneheads -and then finally finding love with neon repairman... season two is wide open. theme song has a lot of surf guitar frank black and the catholics do cover version of 'sign, sign everywhere a sign... .messin' up the scenery, playin with my mind'(i forget the actual title or band but it's a classic from the '70s that you hear on oldie rock stations from time to time..)
OH YEAH! and frank has a cameo as the casino owner who just completely flips (in a very subtle way of course)when he drives by the casino and notices ANY neon or bulbs that are out....
kickass, huh?! |

Could there be a spin-off episode where they time-travel to the era of lime-lights? With a Toulouse-Lautrec "guest appearance".
Even if not, I like that idea, blarg. Reminds me of the chased-to-the-edge-of-cliff-by bare-breasted-bimbos fantasy death scene in "Sleeper".

Nice Blarg! Thanks for playing along...oh yeah! In his cameos as the casino owner I would like Frank to don a curly wig...kinda like Sean Penn in Carlito's Way. Oh! And a big handlebar mustache!
