Me thinks this is my favorite song on the new album that mereubu so generously sent to me.
EVERYTHING IS NEW
Everything is new, ah ha - When the sky is blue, ah ha - You got everything to do, ah ha
Jimmy quit the Army and he started a band. He used to play that club down at Hermosa Strand. I think they’re changing the name again.
Down in Harland, where the windows are big They paint the buildings bright cause they figure the Wind’s coming, who knows when?
Everything is new, ah ha - When the sky is blue, ah ha - You got everything to do, ah ha
Everything is new, ah ha - When the sky is blue, ah ha - You got everything to do, ah ha Everything is new, ah ha - When the sky is blue, ah ha - You got everything to do, ah ha
Howard said to John, “Have you met my wife?” Hope they show me yours, when I lose my life. He lost it after playing in the old skyline.
Seven years later after that same gig, John took the wheel and when he got to the bridge, Billie Jean was along for the second time.
Everything is new, ah ha - When the sky is blue, ah ha - You got everything to do, ah ha Everything is new, ah ha - When the sky is blue, ah ha - You got everything to do, ah ha
Ah, ha
Everything is new When the sky is blue Everything to do
Everything is new, ah ha - When the sky is blue, ah ha - You got everything to do, ah ha
Some of the lyrics may be wrong - I made them red. Billie Jean (if I am spelling it right) has to be an important clue. Also Mike Rutherford wrote: quote: But I know were I to read this thread and find out the meaning behind a piece of a song like Everything Is New, I would want the album that much more as Im a huge Hank Williams Sr. fan.
I do not know what the hell he means, but hey if it helps to decipher the song I am all for it. What are your opinions?

Jimmy = Johnny Harland = Holland Howard = Hiram Hope they show me yours = One day she'll be yours
The meaning of this song has been discussed elsewhere and pretty much decided, but I can't remember where... but it's out there somewhere. |

Hi... new poster here.
I actually bought a copy of SMYT last weekend. I live in Nashville and the local CD shops are notorious for taking advance copies from record folks and slappin' on a price tag. |

I think i'm with El Barto on this one. We should maybe wait until the album is actually released.....this is the frank black forum, there is no need to race to put in your two cents on the album....there is plenty of time to do that in the falli get the impression some of you will already be bored with the album by the time it actually comes out. |

Yeah, that's for sure. I actually just bought an MP3 CD changer for my car, so I spent a day ripping all my FB CDs to 192kbps MP3s (thank-you Dears for showing me the light) and now have the entire catalog minus SSMVGD and live stuff in the first slot. And I LOVE IT ALL. Orange? Mmoi. Teenager? MMMMOI. All the way through. And for the first time ever, I had Pistolero and the brown album in my car and man do they rock when they're "too loud". Sick of Show Me Your Tears? Not for the foreseeable rest of my life and/or afterlife. |
