So last night, I'm in the middle of playing a game and I get a call from Rolling Stone. I usually hang up, but I thought I'd listen to their shpiel this time cause I hung up on them a few days ago. They start telling me the rates are gonna go up and if I resubscribe for 3 years I can get it cheaper. Hmmm, ok...then they tell me I can get a year free of Maxim. Hey, sounds good to me, I figure I'll be resubscribing anyway. So they tell me it's $75 for 3 years...alright, whatever, I'll do the 3 easy payments. Fine by me. I had a letter sitting on my desk from Rolling Stone that I received a day or two before. Out of curiosity, I open it up and it tells me I can renew for another year for $11.97. What the fuck!? I look at the website and at one of the annoying renewal cards in my issue and it said $20 a year (for new subscribers, I'm a preferred customer the lady said!). Fuck that shit, I have a feeling I've been had...what do I do now?

What are you doing subscribing to Rolling Stone in the first place?

Well, you do get a "free" year of Maxim. Hehe. Yea, I'm sure if you call customer service, they'd respect your wishes. It sounds like the people who called you didn't really work for Rolling Stone, but instead telemarketers getting subscribers to pay for magazines and their fees.

As a former CS rep, trust me, what the man says is true.

Bitch hard enough and you'll own the fucking magazine.

I wrote them, I couldn't find a phone number. If they don't do it through email, I'll find the number. speedy: Rolling Stone is good...not really for their reviews, but they have good articles and interviews. The "free" year of Maxim at the price I'm paying is pretty much me paying for a year of Maxim. Fuckers. On the bright side, I did get a postcard from Playboy the other day in the mail saying they're taking it off for me for only $1 an issue + 33 cents delivery...plus a free video...that's a fucking bargain.
