I finally got Pistolero the other day thanks to spinart's incredible online store, and it was the first time that I had heard many of the recorded versions of those songs. Anyways, listening to it on bootlegs, So hard to make things out has always been one of my favorite FB songs, but on the album I was very disapointed. Even though it still sounds great, I think this song is much better live. Also, 85 Weeks and of course I want Rock and roll really stuck out as being better live songs...anyone else's opinions? |

I reckon that whenever you listen to a live version of a song first then you generally like that version over the album. It's like 21 Reasons.... I had a live recording for about a year and a half before BLD was released and do not think the album version is as good (although it is an amazing song on either format).
War....... Its not fantastic |

I'm not a huge fan of IWR&R, but it blew me away live. |

I never liked Pistolero, but the majority of the songs totally rock live.

I don't know if they always play Six-Sixty-Six the way they played it when i saw them, that is, not in the rocknroll way at all, it sounded more like a 4-minute end of a song, with Roger Taylor-like cymbals and drum rolls, with a much slower pulse and Frank's voice breaking all the time. One of the greatest live moments of the show.

Really? It was kind of neat the first time, I suppose, but every show I've went to had one thing in common: the version of Six-sixty six. And to be honest, I was quite tired of it by the second time. And even worse than live is hearing the recorded live version of it. :) But I'm willing to put up with it for an otherwise start-finish fantastic show every time. |

There is nothing in life that compare to the feeling of being in the presence of FB and the C's and looking over at your best mate with a knowing glance that says "oh lord, here comes six-sixty-six". But in a way, I can get into it. Live especially. Dean has yet to be converted, but I'm working on it. |
