So, I went to a website with this address:

The point is that Black said that "The Happening" was one of his favorite Pixies songs. I myself was pleasantly surprised at this. I consider "The Happening" to be the GREATEST SONG EVER. I would like to hear what everyone thinks.
I wanted to ask Frank Black about the song's history when he comes this weekend to chat with steve. I tried to send an e-mail but I think that there could be something wrong with my computer or something..........Oh well. |

i like 'the thing' better. i know its basically just the outro, but i like how the guitar replaces the singing in the 'hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh' singy bits.
bill goodman is that guy with the alien radio station right? frank wants him to get all the praise if alien do come.

| Yeah, I remember reading that. Keep in mind, that was 10 years ago so his opinion of it might have changed (possibly because its not one of the Pixies songs played) |

I think I have a live verison of The Happening at a Frank Black solo show. I LOVE that song. One of my favorites. I like the way it was done, him and Kim Deal's vocals are amazing on that song.

| yeah, it's a really great song... so, anyone else who tries to learn the lyrics to 'The thing'... I used to sing along with the record every morning before school... great song(s). |
