i'm a member of another forum which had a 'what was the last song you listened to' thread... it resulted in tens and tens of pages of mindless spam... |

New Pornographers - Electric Version. And in particular, It's Only Divine Right. Tasty, and looking forward to seeing these guys in Saskatoon at the beginning of July, too. There other album, Mass Romantic is much less awesome but starting to grow. |

Right now? The Chicken Shack on WMSE-FM 91.7 Milwaukee (available on streaming audio via internet). Good old fashioned honky tonk honest to god Country, not that crappy nu-country that makes me retch.
... And at this moment, it's Johnnny wailin' those Folsom Prison Blues....

Ah, so are you in Cubicle Hell like me? On a Friday after a long long stupid long week and nobody can concentrate anymore on their work? |

Blackpurse, I certainly am. Except that I find I can work much better on a Friday than a Monday, which from what I hear, is the opposite of almost everyone else. I also work best late in the day, as opposed to first thing in the morning. Strange me. |

I would be in cubicle hell right now, but I work for the city, and today is an EDO (earned day off), and we are legally allowed to make fun of other "suckers" who have to work today. I know, I also think it's strange that the word "suckers" actually appears in official municipal policy. At the momment, "End Of A Hollywood Bedtime Story" by the Dears is spinning. Just saw them last night with Dean, and man did they kick ass. Dean even got up close and personal with Mr. Murray Lightburn.... |

I'd say it was more like Mr. Murray Lightburn got up close and personal with me, but let's never speak of it again. :) |

A great concert, though... much more impressive live than on record. |

Yeah, well I've gotta' "work" til 5, though I guess I can't complain since I've been at about my peak of unproductiveness today. |

A lot of bands are more impressive live than on record. I mean, come on, a lot of Frank songs live blow away recorded versions. But you are right, the Dears were much more intense live. Great show though, I really glad I went. It really makes me crave more live shows, and playing live..... New Porns on the 2nd! Can't wait. |

Yeah, now there's one I'm REALLY excited for. And my comment about live wasn't intended to be derogatory of the Dears, more of gaining a new appreciation for them. |

Pete Labonne - "Yick Yack". I actually am listening to this right now, so I'll include the current song also: "Used Finishing Nails". Hey Brackish Girl, I read you were only 16 on some other topic. A 16 year old female with the intellegence to listen to music such as Frank Blacks impresses me very much, as it is a very rare occurance for me to meet someone in my age group who shares the same musical interests, let alone a female. You've kinda made my day, but if you only lived in New York.......
