me and mrs. galoof are headed for ireland tonight, flying out of philadelphia sometime around 8pm. it's our second trip - the first was ten years ago for our honeymoon. we always said we'd go back for our 10th anniversary and we're keeping that promise.

ten nights in eight cities, bombing around in a rented car, checking out the megalithic sites - among other things. for those who are interested (or irish - barry?) the eight cities are dublin, armagh, donegal, galway, killarney, dingle, waterford, and wicklow. it's an enormous circuit, designed to leave no passage tomb, dolmen, norman stronghold, or early christian drystone monastery unturned, untoured, or unphotographed.

wish us luck - and decent weather - and good beer!

John! come say hello if you are in dublin. weather isnt too bad.. and your route is the best you can get. killarney and dingle are absolutely fantastic. if you are in dublin make sure you go to the guinness factory and whelans (in wexford street) for some cool indie. also - give me a shout if you are around too!

Thats funny, I'm flying to Philadelphia tonight! As well as what Bazza recommended, when you get to Galway, take the boat out to Aran and stick your head over the cliffs at Dun Angus, great hangover cure if you need one!(and you will!)

i ended up meeting barry (bazza) in dublin, hanging my head over the cliff at dun aengus AND traveling through the burren (it's dolmen-tastic!) - so thanks for all your suggestions! it was a great trip, beautiful weather, 27 rolls of film, 1600 miles on our rental car - awesome!
