was this song ever performed live? If so, does anyone have it for download or maybe it's on the FTP site? Thanks. |

the site seems unavailable right now... would be a shame if they never performed it, it's one of the best pixies songs, I think. |

It seemed like a song that was basically made up in the studio, which probably explains why it was never played live. When I first heard the record, it was my favorite song, now it's probably my least favorite..but I still love it. |

Definitely. When I first heard it I thought it was a joke, and I still feel like it's kinda tongue-in-cheek. It's just so raunchy, like really raunchy 80s metal. It's a great fucking song, and I'm pretty sure it was more or less made up during the sessions...just listen to the lyrics! They're clear as day! |

La La Love You was never performed live...David Lovering performed it with The Bennies on the FB&TC November tour (he sang)...that's the only time it was performed live by any of the Pixies, I believe.

did he play drums? Wasn't there a show or 2 in like 2000 where Dave played drums with the Catholics? Does anyone have a recording of it? |

He didn't play drums with the Bennies, but he did play drums with the Catholics in the not too distant past...2002/2003 I believe.

I wrote a short story for school inspired by pixies lyrics, and this was the main song that I used.

i think that on the not too distant past there were more songs released from earlier sessions, one of which was an early verion of subbaculture i wanna say, which included bits if this song as well...it seemes they were once one song, and the part that didnt fit into subbaculcha was rewritten into "space."

The Purple Tape version of Subbaculture does indeed include elements which subsequently became part of "Space". It's the part just after BF sings "Way down, down, down in this Subbaculture"...
Then you get the "Space" chords with some different lyrics over the top - sounds like "We're having fun" or something? I like it - it's different - and it shows how they picked different bits of old songs and split them up into new songs. Very organic way of making music - and recycling's good for the environment, right? |

No, the early version of Subbacultcha contains portions of what would later become Distance = Rate times Time
