That's right! Cooking Vinyl has announced the first date of his fall European tour. Here's the news:

That's right. Frank Black has decided to do a number of gigs across Europe. The only confirmed date so far is London on 15th October, but we will put up more dates as soon as they come in. Watch this space!>>
Ain't that fucking great? The Oct. 1th date is at the Astoria. I'm sooooooooooo happy!

Shite! Ive already booked my time off for Roskilde next month, which means that 1) I won't be able to get time off in Oct and 2) I won't be able to afford to go back to Britain.

No no no no no no no no not the Elysee Montmartre!!!! I decided to boycott this place a long time ago, and I would hate being forced to go there. There are like a hundred better places to do concerts in Paris.

Isn't Le Zenith a good place to play in France, or is that just for arena style bands???? Has Frank ever played a stadium or arena with the Catholics???

Re: Stuart: - Le Zénith is a large venue, I think it holds about 4000 people and the sound is shitty (well, it's good for a venue that size, but it's nothing compared to smaller places). The Catholics will soon play in an arena when they'll open for Placebo, the place is a 18000 people venue.
- The Elysée Montmartre does have an awful sound system. I've never been to a concert there where the sound was good. Plus the tickets are generally very expensive there (they are expensive in every venue in Paris, but in the EM it's becoming ridiculous), the place is just a horrible big square box, and the bouncers are dumber than the average. My suggestion for a Parisian gig: le Trabendo, le Bataclan, le Nouveau Casino, and then a solo secret gig at the Guinguette Pirate.

| i'm really pleased that fb is playing the astoria. its such a good venue and is fairly small. you can stand at the bar and still have a good view of the band. |

| i understood that he did some sort of chemistry/magic/comedy show with la la love you thrown in. he supported fb in the us and i thought he might do the same in the uk. it would be better that watching some crap band that i had never heard of. |
