i heard rumors from a friend, and maybe he exaggerated by saying 'the other day'.....but he said frank showed up out of nowhere and went to sam bond's garage in eugene and played an acoustic set........anyone have the real info on this?

That doesn't sound too off the wall. From what I understand he's been driving around the country and showing up at bars and small clubs and playing.

What the fuck? Eugene? Sam Bond's Garage? From one Oregonian to another, this post is not only mildly disappointing, but a bit eerie.
