anyone into this band?

i just borrowed one of their cd's from a friend.. i LOVE this kind of stuff.. it's so crazy..

if you haven't heard them they're this really out there 60's brazilian band.. super crazy stuff..

Yes, I have a collection of their stuff. I love it as well. I really like a lot of Tropicalia stuff, Caetano Velosa and Tom Ze among others.

A car companies using one of thier songs in an ad here, I don't know which one though. On the Martinis website, Joey say's thier one of his wives and his favorite bands at the moment.

cool. yeah, i borrowed some Tom Ze from my friend too, now that he turned me onto the mutantes. he said the mutantes is by far the best of this collection he has (it's like some 5 disc set)..

i've heard and dug some of gilberto gil's stuff.. and my girlfriend has one of those david byrne produced things that has a bunch of tropicalia stuff on it.

i agree, you can't go wrong with tropicalia.. os mutantes are crazy though.. veering more towards psychadelic / surreal experimental stuff.. and they look totally crazy too. i'm loving these guys. (i guess joey and i are on the same wavelength .. yeah, that's it)..

There's a great combo called The Bees who've covered an os mutantes classic - mena mina - check them out coz they rock!

yeah, spacerock.. that's what my friend said.. it seems like they got kind of soft in the 70's. but their late 60's stuff is pretty great.
