Everyone should watch this movie. It is exceptional and so is the music (its like a rock opera). I went to see the play this weekend and thought I should tell everyone to watch it.
If ya do, let me know what you think.

Also, before the show started, they played this song on a loop for about an hour and its so stuck in my head. Who knows the song 'Jet boy, jet girl'?

Aye, this is the only 'musical' i ever truly enjoyed. Mebbe The Grinch is second..didn't even like the Muppet show because of that.

Sorry to take away from Hedwig, definitely in my top 10 fav movies in the last five years.

I love this movie so much. Last year I bought the soundtrack, and my daughter became obsessed with it (minus Angry Inch--y'know, parental censorship and all). You haven't truly questioned your mothering skills until you've heard your three year-old growl :"Dontcha know me, Kansas City? I'm the new Berlin Wall--try and tear me down!"

Carolynanna, do you know about the tribute CD that's in the works? Frank's doing "Sugar Daddy." Eeee!

ahem, I should point out that The Blues Brothers is also a musical, and easily one of the best movies ever made.

Okay I was going to keep this to myself but I have to admit that I love "JC Superstar" It's pretty old but the songs are catchy.

Oh, JC Superstar totally warped me as a small child! I though Judas was so cool, and my poor parents were completely unable to impose religion on me after that. I saw a revival of it a few years ago with the movie Judas & Jesus playing the stage roles, and it was the cheesiest thing I've ever seen. At the end when Jesus ascends, he was wearing this big bulky diaper (I swear, it went up to his ribs--I guess to conceal the harness used to lift him) and as he moves on up to heaven, the cross slowly begins to flicker with light and finally it's flashing. My husband and I were almost ejected from the theatre for giggling inappropriately and saying "Tilt! Tilt! God's cheating at pinball and trying to win extra games!" Still, Carl Anderson's Judas irrefutably kicks ass.

I liked it more because they portrayed Judas not so horribly and Mary not quite so much of a super slutty temptress.
I saw it a few years ago where Zappacosta (I think that idiot is Canadian too) played Jesus. Pretty lame.
