I've got tickets to see Throwing Muses this Thursday at The Middle East and I am fully aware of the significance of being able to see them there with Tonya Donnelly, so I want to be better prepared. I own "Ramona" and the new one. Could anyone recommend one more Muses CD to purchase before the show that they will probably play a lot of songs off of? If anyone has seen them already on this tour, you'd be the ones to talk to. Thanx!

University or Limbo. They're both great.

I love House Tornado, but I don't know if many songs will be played from there. Donnelly is on that disc.

(i saw them in Utrecht about a month ago)

you've got the new one so you've got that covered

they played 9 songs out of 12 of their new album in Utrecht

and I guess some Limbo and University
but as Donnely is on the show
I would expect more early stuff
like counting backwards and mania or so

I just got back from the show and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. Kristen Hersh is absolutely amazing, but Tonya Donnely only came out for three songs and frankly stunk up the joint. She sang "Not Too Soon" and was so flat, she was singing a half step below. I hope she had a cold or something, otherwise - "Lay-hame" The band as a trio was really good except the bass player's bass sounded like shit and was so loud I had to leave early - and I was wearing earplugs! Anyhow, at this point I'm more interested in seeing Kristen solo. She was so intense. She stared straight ahead with wide eyes the whole time. It was like she was staring down someone in the back and letting them know that as soon as she finished her show she was going to come back there and kick their ass.
The other good thing was watching security carry a gangly drunk person up the stairs and out the door - horizontally.
