WOW! I'm not really a fan, as I don't have any of their cds and don't know any of their songs except the popular ones, but I went to the concert last night at the hifi buys amphitheatre in atlanta because I figured it would just be a really cool concert, and it was incredible. My ears are still ringing right now. I have no idea what songs they played, because like I said, I don't know any of their songs. I know they played even flow and a couple of their really popular ones. I was really surprised at how great the tickets were too, since I bought them like 3 hours before the concert and most of the seats at the amphitheatre suck, but I was about 15 rows back from the stage and it was loud as shit. If anyone else was there and made a setlist, please share it as I would love to know the names of many of those songs. I did get kind of pissed off when eddy started making fun of George Bush, but oh well, I guess pretty much everyone on this forum hates him |

Pearl Jam are tied with FB & the C's,Frank Black solo and the Pixies for my favorite band. They're definitely one of the best live bands of all time, with a different set every night, lots of improv etc. etc. In case you didn't know, they're offering official bootlegs of each show. If you want to know how to get a copy of this show, lemme know and I'll post the info for you.
Anyway...

I'm not a big fan, but I'm glad they hate the Bush administration just as much as the next guy. FB&TC opened a tour for them a few years ago, right? So did Sonic Youth, I believe. Shouldba been the other way around man! |

thanks for the info, that'd be great if you could tell me how to get a recording. I got to the concert a little late because my friend going with me got off work at 8 and that's when the concert started, so we got there at like 9:30, but looking at the setlist, we only missed 2 songs I believe. |

It's simple. Go to: www.tenclub.net You'll see a notebook graphic. Above it you'll see: Pearl Jam 2003 Bootlegs. Click it and on the next screen just hit non-member and it's pretty self-explanatory.
I saw FB & the C's open for PJ in East Troy and Chicago. It was before the self-titled album had come out...so outside of Wave of Mutilation and Ten Percenter, I was unfamiliar with what they played. I remember I Need Peace standing out, I was like, "Mmm...that song that suddenly slows down then speeds up, that's good." So was Six-sixty six. In Chicago, Frank said, "This is Kicked in the Taco, Stone requested it..." Stone being one of Pj's guitarists. Somewhere, a while ago I read how much he really liked Hermaphroditos. Anyway, at the time, Taco wasn't a particular favorite of mine, so I wasn't that into it.
Since then my love for their music has exponentially grown. Performance wise, I think they've gotten tons better. I remember jumping up and down when I heard the slow-drum beat intro to Wave; most people around me seemed indifferent.
Anyway, I saw them open for PJ, little knowing how much I'd love their music in the future. After hearing FB, Teenager and Cult, the Brown album was at first, quite disappointing. When I saw them for during the Dog in the Sand Tour, I was totally blown away. Quite a different experience from 2 years earlier.
cheers |

Nimrod's Son:
Even easier, just go here: http://www.pearljambootlegs.com/index.asp?t=5529
Then go to the bottom, wait for the CLICK HERE link to appear, hit it and there you go. You don't have to join the fanclub to buy a bootleg. |

I saw Pearl Jam once when the Catholics opened for 'em back in '98. 'Twas a good show, though the sound was fairly horrible (in the near-back of the arena, that is). The PA volume was pretty low during the Catholics' performance, and I was just becoming acquainted with Mr. T via his work in the Pixies; therefore, the Catholics didn't have much of an effect on me. Their performance of Wave of Mutilation was unforgettable, though. |
