Just got home from the Slim's show and it was great. Not as good as last night's show in Santa Cruz but a close call. The show will be available for download at hearitagain.net sometime soon (hopefully they include the whole show this time). I must say that Masif Centrale is shaping up to be my favorite of the new songs. I can hardly wait for September.

The setlist is as follows:

Don't Clip My Wings
Brackish Boy
Wave of Mutilation
Calistan
I'll Be Blue
The Swimmer
(first six songs Frank w/Eric Drew Feldman)

Farewell Bend
(lose Eric add Rich and Dave)

Where Is My Mind
Bullet
Mr Grieves
Los Angeles
California Bound
Cold Heart Of Stone
Jane Queen of Love
Goodbye Lorraine
Nimrod's Son
Robert Onion
New House of the Pope
Horrible Day
Manitoba
Gouge Away
Hermaphroditis
Crackity Jones
I Want Rock n Roll
666
Monkey Gone To Heaven
Cactus
How You Went So Far
Masif Centrale
Nadine

Dirty Old Town
Holiday Song
Whiskey In Your Shoes
Black Rider

Wooooooooooo!!!

That's great. Thanks for posting it. Did Scott play with Frank and E.D.F.? If not, when did he enter into the set?

And did they do the extended outro to Hermaphroditos? Too bad no Black Letter Day but that's the human (and sometimes Robot) condition, always wanting more.

If the Hearitagain guy is reading this, I certainly hope you get the whole show for download and/or cd-order.

cheers

Scott entered with David Phillips for Where is my Mind?

Yes, they did the extended outro to Hermaphroditis.

I'll be e-mailing the hearitagain guy (you should too) to make sure
they include the whole show including the mini set with Eric Drew Feldman.
This was cool because for most of the songs, Frank put the guitar down and
it was just Eric on the organ.

In terms of Brackish boy, he played it in his solo set last september
here in SF but I haven't seen too many complete Catholics setlists to
know if he's bee playing it a lot.

That's awesome... Eric just knows how to make those organs sound however he wants. If those are in, I'll probably be all over the live version. Very cool set list... the only thing you missed is Freedom Rock, I think, from his regular rotation this tour. It's too bad they didn't keep Eric & Rich & Dave... that would have been incredible.

I dropped a note to the hearitagain guy mike@cnotes.com to lobby for a complete show.
Yes Freedom Rock is a welcome addition to any setlist.

Great! Thanks for the responses. I'm going to send "Cnotes" an email asking for the complete show. Sounds like it was a great show...and hey! Hopefully I'll be able to hear it for myself.

I don't think they've played Brackish Boy very often, at least, not from this current tour.

cheers

This was maybe my 9th or 10th time seeing Frank, and man, I think it was the best. I'm so glad Rich is on the tour, he really adds a lot. I got one of Scott's drumsticks. All around incredible show.

Yeah, the Slim's show was amazing. I also saw both the Santa Cruz show and the San Francisco, both were great. One huge difference: he said virtually nothing at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, just band intros and "thanks" at the end. At Slim's, he was the the chattiest I've seen, and this was my 10th time. At the beginning he talked a lot with Eric Feldman, and as Mr. Feldman left the stage to make way for Rich and Dave, Frank stopped him and gave him a gig hug! This of course was greeted with a huge "Aaawwwww" from the crowd. When Dave McC and Rich came to the stage, Frank mentioned how great Dave was at "bailing them out of situations. Like jail." He really made it sound like either he himself, of someone in the band had been arrested either earlier in the day, or the previous night. Anyone hear anything about that? Anyway, both shows were incredible. Really nice hearing Brackish Boy. See ya!

Yea, Slims was great. Best Catholics show I've seen out of 5. Still deciding if it was better than the solo accoustic FB show at Cubberly in Palo Alto a couple years ago. Either way, it was a revelation. Highlights for me: Jane the Queen of Love, Robert Onion, and The Swimmer (w/ Feldman).

I saw the Sacramento show (lousy accoustics) and the SF Slims show. I must say, the boys kicked ass at Slims. The emotion that Frank brings to his vocals is amazing. I only wished he played more Devils Workshop tunes. Velvety, Heloise, et al. Good to see Frank slim down a bit.

Got the reply for Mike @ Hearitagain.net and it's good news:

Thanks for writing. Yes, we plan to put up the whole show from
Saturday night. As of now, we're also going to record Wednesday
night's show.
