This is always quite funny, could be a tad embarassing but what the hell.
Here I'll go first.
1986, Motley Crue "Shout at the Devil" tour.
I was 11 and it was awesome at that time!

Mine was Jimmy Buffett circa 1983 - I was seven. I barely remember it at all.

The first concert I actually WANTED to go too was in 1990 and *big sigh* it was New Kids on the Block. I can't believe I am actually admitting this - it's like a 12 Step Program or something. I was 13 and stupid, what can I say?

First gig was Climie Fisher and I was 14 and I don't want to talk about it...

I had NO CHOICE in terms of the Buffett. But New Kids was completely my choice, so I don't know what is worse.

Oh, the shame is too much to bear!

I had gone to lame gigs in my school and pubs and stuff when I was like 13 or 14, but the first proper concert I was "going" to go to was Nirvana. I was so excited when my friend and I bought our tickets, but the next week the dick killed himself! I still have my ticket hidden away in my Mam and Dads bills press, I think it's worth abit now!

REM on their Life's Rich Pagaent tour (I believe) 1986, I was 17.

I had just moved from Texas to San Diego to start college. And in the the first month my favorite band (REM) showed up to play in the UCSD gym. This is after being stuck in Texas with all of the Top 40 & country shit. I was pretty thrilled. Over the next 5 years, other bands on campus were X, Concrete Blond, Jane's Addiction (for 2 nights), Dead Milkmen, Minutemen (I think, maybe it was Firehose), Thelonious Monster, TMBG, Mary's Danish, and Laurie Anderson. Sure beat Texas.

I'm embarassed to admit it...but it was New Kids on the Block in like, 1988 or so. Hey, fuck you guys! I had two older sisters and was very young and impressionable! The first rock concert I went to was the 89X Birthday Bash in Detroit, which had a lot of rather popular bands...I don't remember which year it was, but Screaming Trees headlined. Sloan was there, and they were my favorite band that I saw. I think my first proper rock concert (with just a single band) was Frank Black in 1999.

Jane's Addiction, that would've been so cool. Perry rocks. I just missed them in Vancouver last year (boohoo). My brother went and called me from his cell phone to let me listen to 3 days. They should have a concert where they only play 3 days, some kind of whacko 2 hour version. That would be cool.
I also missed Tool at the U of A (super small venue) because all the damn university students got first dibs.

My first concert was Guns 'N' Roses....back in, what, 90 or 91? It was when i was living in Greece......Brian May opened, and then GnR were, like, 2 or 3 hours late (typical) It was a huge arena show, and I remember my dad had to go with me because i was too young to be going to rock shows solo...hahahaha so funny. must have been 12 or so at the time.

Whitesnake when I was 8... my parents took me. They suck. The Offspring in 99 , Americana tour. Right after they started sucking. And Frank Black this year, and that's it for me! (besides local stuff)

As long as its not Wings, they're horrible.
Their only redeeming song is band on the run.
If it wasn't for Band on the run I have no use for them.
I like a little more lennon than mccartney, who doesn't?

wings didn't JUST put out crap, although there was a lot of crap

i was surprised when i gave a listen to the "wingspan" comp how many wings songs didn't suck. there are some nice little things in that collection. but i do prefer lennon's solo stuff. but still, compared to most people's first shows, i'm proud of my mccartney. of course, a few years later started a string of aerosmith shows i wish i could take back...

My LAST big (stadium) concert attended was seeing Paul M. at the Fleet Center in Boston. I was in the 18th row and it was very cool - despite Wings the guy is (was?) a Beatle and that fucking rocks, no question.

I think I mentioned this here before, but my first and still best concert ever was:
Primus
Pixies
Janes Addiction
It was like a miniature Lollapalooza, except it was good.

I saw McCartney once. I also was in the absolute last row (Anaheim Stadium). The concert was fine, and it's good to have seen at least one of Beatles live, even if he was 1/4 of a mile away.

Live and Let Die is a pretty good Wings tune and solo McCartney like Ram (as I've said somewhere else) can be damn good.

I'm just semi-old I guess. But, I am embarrased to say that I was rockin the house to 38 Special in my first show. Had to be 81-82 era. I can remember standing on my seat, singing along to "hold on loosely" and thinking I was watching the greatest band in Rock History. How wrong....

my parents took me to various Folk festivals since I was a baby.
So it could be like Richard Thompson or Fairport Convention or other English folk.

Now I am waiting to see these guys play at a casino or something...
