I found a user on Kazaa last night with some Frank Black songs i've never seen. I was wondering if anyone knew what recordings or shows these are from?
Do Nothing Better Things Dirty Old Town Fight With Honor Keeping In Time Old John Amos Mother Popcorn Silhoutte The Big Hurt
Some of these are live and/or demos but a few are studio recorded. I think a couple are off of Self titled album singles, but some, such as Mother Popcorn I have never heard of at all. Does anyone have or know where i can find a complete list of rare Frank Black/Pixies tracks?

The user in question was me, I beleive, as you messaged me about my wonderous collection of Frank Blackities. These are mostly B-sides from throughout Frank's career, while Keeping in Time and Fight With Honor are really early recordings made by a certain Mr. Charles Thompson on a boombox or some other el cheapo style device. Old John Amos is from a Tribute to Arthur Alexander, and is obviously, an Arthur Alexander song. I have no idea who Arthur Alexander is, someone please enlighten me. And then maybe give me a back rub. Mother Popcorn is another cover, this time it's the Godfather of Soul, if I'm not mistaken. The Big Hurt, Dirty Old Town, Better Things and Do Nothing are all covers. I like it when he whispers "Dirty Old Town" live. It makes me feel naughty. There's a little girl.... |

Do Nothing - Cover of The Specials, "Dog Gone" single Better Things - Cover of The Kinks, "I Don't Want To Hurt You" single Dirty Old Town - Cover of the Pogues, I don't think a studio version exists Fight With Honor - "College Demo", pre-Pixies Keeping In Time - "College Demo", pre-Pixies Old John Amos - not sure who wrote this, I don't think a studio version exists Mother Popcorn - James Brown cover, appears on the tribute "Super Bad" Silhoutte - "College Demo", pre-Pixies The Big Hurt - W.Shankin cover, "Dog Gone" single
The "complete list of rare FB tracks" is part of my massive song database, which will make an early, primative appearance soon (featuring lyrics for all studio albums). |

I'm happy to share all of my files with anyone who is a fan of Frank, or who would like to become one. Any true fan would do the same.....

Speedy M, maybe you should do what some other people seem to do and just horde it all, refusing to share. Of, you'll give them files, but they had better give you something first. Because you paid so much for all those B-sides.
... I think they call it trading.
And yes, that's my sarcastic somewhat angry rant at those who have not come to realize that their collection was really built on people sharing and not hording (everyone has to start from nothing, how did they do it?). Share the wealth, that's all I'm saying. |

yes i now have these mp3's for trade on kazaa as well , along with an extensive porn collection LOL.
Yeah some ppl are dicks when it comes to sharing, i dont care , as long as I have it i'm happy. If someone likes frank black, that's enough for me to share the music with them.

Just to clarify on El Barto, a studio version of Old John Amos does exist (the one on the tribute album is studio) |

ALL of the tunes in question can be found on Kaaza, maybe you won't see it at first, but someone will log on with the files.
All of them.
Pssssst.
Find Kaaza Lite, it doesn't contain spyware.

Ah Speedy M, it was you who I downloaded those songs off. I spent ages downloading them on a shitty computer to find out that I couldn't burn them onto cd.... I was well pissed!
Yeah Kazaa is a little weird, whenever you look for Frank Black songs you always find different ones. I've found out that Broadband is now in China so in a couple of months I'm gonna get myself a new laptop and download as much Frank Black as I can..... Ive got few bootlegs or live recordings so I can't wait to get my wank spanners (hands) on the new stuff.
