Guys is the abstract plain still going? I was thinking about updating my yahoo group setting - wondered if it was worth it - anyone?

Good question...it is still around. Visited it for the first time yesterday since fb.net opened back in the fall and was *still* frustrated by not having the messages categorized... I hope I'm not missing out on any great FB news by sticking to the forum, but I can't believe how much easier this thing is to navigate than a basic message board. -FranknWeezer |

Uh oh..i hope the AP'ers don't see this..!!
In all fairness to AP, it's an email list, with messages posted online..it's not really meant to be a message board.
As i said when i started this project, when you hit a certain point, an email list is not very functional...i'd hate to see the AP with all this action and 950 members..yikes!! |

Actually, AP is much nicer now that many members have migrated over to the boards. I read AP weekly, and I don't post there very much, but it's still nice.

I'm a Frank Black for President vet, and before that I was an imusic vet. They were both solid, but this one's the best, convenience wise and action wise. In fact, right now it's more active than it was 3 months ago, which is saying something. Usually these boards die down. |

Yeah, the Abstract Plain has been very quiet for a couple of weeks but it's living again now. I think it's nice to have both the forum and the list. Topics on the forum are more Frank-related, whereas I feel I can talk about anything on the AP.

I'm the owner (well, co-owner, Renee still has her ownership) of the AP. Like Dave said, it's an email list. Every so often there will be a time where there's 40 emails in your box, other times when there's 1 or 2. It's easier to carry out longer discussions there without a lot of pointless 5 word posts...you gotta get everything into that one email :) |

I've never posted in there, but I have gone in to read what's up a few times. The concert reviews tend to sometimes be longer in the AP then in here, which is a cool thing to check out. |

and there were some very interesting 'iraq' discussions.... none of which resulted in the childish responses that were found here...
they both have their purposes. |
