I just found out that I'll be doing a short interview with Frank tonight before his show in Victoria - does anyone have any questionss they'd like me to ask him?

Hoo... well, so many questions, so few relavent ones. :) I suppose these are some questions I might ask:
1) How he and the band liked touring western Canada/if they would do it again. 2) If he feels his early solo stuff was overproduced or if they are just going for a different sound now? (I love TOTY/Orange and wish he'd do a few more songs with Eric like that, but he HAS moved away from that style completely.) 3) What he likes best about his upcoming album. 4) How he feels about the complexity of his songs (hidden meanings, etc.)
I'd better cut it off there or things will get out of control. It's actually harder than I thought to think of good questions for him that lots of readers would be interested in. Definitely stay away from Pixies reunion/Kim/Why the double album/mobile recording studio. He's been asked these to death.
Be sure to post the full interview up here for us (not just the edited final)! |

Yeah, a page worth of questions would probably be a good resource, though some might be out of date now... |

Hey, be sure to mention that this site is designed and run by a Victoria guy. =)
Who are you interviewing him for Andy? |

You bet!!
I work for the New VI (local TV station) as a technician. I'm not sure why, but the Entertainment Dept. thought a fan interview would be a good "angle", so here I am. I friggin' _hate_ being on TV, but I'll suck it up to talk to Frank! I'll transcribe the (hopefully) good parts of the interview for the forum later...

hope its not too late but heres that post http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=564&SearchTerms=interview there are plenty of relevant questions. we still need to do a website interview with frank. i mean having a concert run by his fans is one thing, but an interview would be nothing practically, im sure hed be up for that. viachicago.org did it with wilco's manager.

Dave - I wouldn't worry about not having a TV. I just got home from the "interview" and it didn't go well. I only got to ask a few questions (one about their mobile studio, another about Frank's favorite Stones records - really just my opening questions) and the rest of the time was taken up by one of our reporters whose questions were... questionable. I can only hope that Frank will be hanging out on the stage aftter the show, 'cause I think I owe him an apology (yes, it went that badly!) Needless to say a big disappointment, as I've wanted to meet the man since I first listened to Come on Pilgrim and Surfer Rosa in college many, many years ago.
Btw, thanks for the questions. Sorry I didn't get to ask them.

I'm sure Frank probably would have rather talked to you than dumb-ass reporter. |
