Wow! Why did it take me so long to discover this board? Anyhow. All this talk about "where I come from no one knows Frank" I can definitely relate to. In high school that is. But now i'm in college, UMASS as a matter of fact, and everyone loves Frank up here! I even took a class that Frank took...avant garde film with Don Levine, who screened Un Chien Andalou and inspired Frank to write Debaser. He's like folklore up here. Kids ask Don Levine about Frank all the time, and he plays all coy, but the teaching assisstants claim he's really impressed. One time the TA was trying to get Doolittle to work in his cd player, to play us Debaser, and it wouldn't work. But i had Frank Black's solo debut in my backpack, so we listened to that instead. It was the only time i raised my hand all year.
Anyhow..Frank..if you're reading, i'd love to know which dorm/living area you lived in. I'm serious! It would be really cool to find out that i'm living in the same building that Frank Black did. |
