Being away it's really hard to pick up new music. So of all the CD's I've burned and brought with me I've been listening the most too: White Stripes - Elephant Enon - High Society Toadies - Ultimate Toadies Baboon - Something Good Is Going To Happen To you Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted (Duxe) Dino Jr. - Ear Bleeding Country (Best of)

Here is some new music (i guess "new" is kind of relative, though) that I picked up as of late:
-My Bloody Valentine "Loveless" -Burning Brides "Fall of the Plastic Empire" -Mogwai (the newest one, I forget the name) <--these guys are something special! -Radiohead "Hail to the Thief" -Sublime "40 oz. to Freedom" -Ween "Chocolate and Cheese" -Pavement "Slanted and Enchanted (Lux & Redux)" |

Loveless is great, but I always think it sounds like when your walkman is running out of power and struggling to play the tape (plus thier Irish[ish])

mogwai's new one is 'happy songs for happy people' or 'happy songs or happy people', i dont know which. i've heard a few tracks, i might be trekking out to the shops to get it soon(i'm a good little girl who supports the artist!) why the hell are the pavement albums so friggin expensive? well, they are in ireland.

My Bloody Valentine have been on my "alt-rock pioneers to investigate" list for too long. Must buy Loveless soon or else. |

Heh heh. Yeah, on the first page of this thread I mentioned Nuggets and you responded. Actually, what I'm referring to is not Luke Vibert's "Nuggets", but a 4-CD (or volume) compilation of N. American underground rock from the '60s (the first volume is essential listening IMO). I did look up Vibert on AllMusic, though. Sounds up my alley, so thanks for the recommendation! |

I have that new Grandaddy album as well. Never heard them before I got it...they are pretty good, albeit a little on the folky-poppy side for my tastes. Spoon is more my kind of rock.
But I like em. There are definitely a couple of really great songs on "Sumday". |

i am actually addicted to audioslave's album. i heard cochise (their first single) when it first came out and was very disappointed. It sounded too much like Rage to me. I didn't bother getting their album for many months. Then that like a stone song came out and i was way more impressed than with cochise. My friend copied the album for me and I have been listening to it all the time. I even like cochise now. It fits with the album well. A beautiful album if you ask me (and you didn't). Anyone else addicted?
