You have to listen to the two McLusky CD's. Every Pixies Fan will love that.
Besides The Desaparecidos (Bright Eyes Project) was not yet mentioned.
Record of the year 2002: Interpol

I can't belive no one has mentioned
Operation Ivy - My god they kick ass! If you haven't checked them out, do.
At the ripe old age of 24 though I find myself listening to calm music like Radiohead (mostly Amnesiac), Ben Harper, and Cold Play. I think I’m closing in on a coma and I don’t care.
(I still come to now and then to listen to the Pixies ) |

Manic Street Preachers The Jesus And Mary Chain PiL The Clash The Sex Pistols --------------- Those are probably the top five. --------------- Radiohead The Smashing Pumpkins Guns N Roses T-Rex Suede Adan And The Ants Garbage Placebo The Smiths Muse
That's about it. These are the bands I listen to semi-regularly. Like, there are others that I'll only listen to every so often, like Marilyn Manson, and NIN.

I'll just list the current listenings, cause there's way too many overall to get into....
-The Gun Club -The Saints (Rocket from the Crypt's entire career sounds like three Saints songs) -Killing Joke -Wire (The new record is amazing!!!) -All solo Adrian Belew -New ZZ top....yeah that's right..New ZZ Top -Vaz (for fans of early 90's noise style punk...a la Hammerhead, Unsane, Jesus Lizard, etc) Oh, and another that ALL CATHOLICS FANS SHOULD FIND, is a band called COME that were on Matador a while back. Fantastic mildly western guitar (one of my favorite guitar bands of all time), highly memorable, simple, humble songs, and one of the most beautiful female voices of all time that hardly anyone in the world will get to hear. Very, very similar to what Frank is up to these days.
