thom york of radiohead was interviewed by rollingstone, sometime in 98 after the release of ok computer...he mentioned that he had a fear of driving cars and that the pixies were the best band in the world... last summer i caught the tail end of the tonight show in florida or some shit, and i saw moby on stage playing with david bowie and i almost shat my slacks when i realized what song they were covering. it was cactus from SR, during the song they spelled out the name B-L-A-C-K!!! i was on top of the world...but had nobody there to tell. what bands are any of you listening to? what groups give you the shits(or runs)? say whatever comes to mind. be stupid, i insist. for example, the first i ever heard of the pixies was from 'pump up the volume' UK surf WOM ...i was in the 8th grade and just learned how to masturbate (about a year earlier).
your pal, run-on sean oh yeah, and please use the F-word. |

When I saw Radiohead live, Thom was tuning his guitar, then all of a sudden and hit a chord and yelled "it's educational!" into the microphone. |

Brackish Girl....i read a Radiohead biography book that mentioned something along those lines....i remember the song being "I Can't", though I might be wrong about that....it wasn't really dedicated to the Pixies, the band just thought that it resembled a Pixies song somewhat or that their influence could be heard in it. Something along those lines. If anyone knows that "I Can't" is the actual song or not, I'm curious to know... |

Sorry guys, the song is actually "Blowout" off Pablo Honey.
And Samuel, I saw Radiohead on the Amnesiac tour in Boston, I forget the venue |

If it's "Blowout," that makes a lot more sense. I remember seeing the song on Napster credited to Radiohead and the Pixies. |
