So anyway, I went to see The Raveonettestonight. It wasn't a Raveonettes show, it was an Interpol show but I didn't stay for Interpol. I really like The Raveonettes and I think many a Pixies and Frank Black fan would too. I recommend them. I didn't have any tickets for the show so I figured I'd buy them at the door of The Trocadero. I couldn't find anyone to go with me because everyone had school or work or "Who the fuck are the raveonettes?" So I had to go by myself. I drove to Philly which took about an hour, I pay $8 to park and I walk up to the Trocadero at 7:30, doors open at 8. There is a big line. I get in line and get up to the door, show is sold out. So for the next hour I stand around in the cold outside of the Trocadero waiting for someone to have an extra ticket. I talked to this guy Grahm who didn't have a ticket either he was real nice. So to make a long story short. Everyone got in, including me. I paid $20 for a $14 ticket which wasn't bad since Ticketmaster would have charged me $20 for that surcharge Bull. They rocked, they were really good, I'm glad I saw them. I got a nice Raveonettes T-shirt. Oh and when I got inside I saw Grahm and they were playing Monkey Gone To Heaven on the PA before The Raveonettes came out.

I saw the Breeders and Frank Black at the Trocadero, it's a nice little venue. |

yah i was there last night. to be honest i thought ravonettes were pretty damn terrible, atleast, sound wise. i mean had the bass drum and bass guitar been turned down about 100 decibels (no exaggeration), they might have sounded quite good actually, but that didnt happen and it pissed me off. I mean it was really out of control, the best song they played was the one where it was just one guitar and drums, and the only song where you could even hear the vocals(albeit understanding them was impossible). i liked the first opening band more than the main two acts actually. atleast there was some redemption since they played monkey gone to heaven on the pa, and if you looked around you could spot people mouthing the words.
and yes the trocadero is a cool venue.
