It's gonna take a little while for this one to get its groove locked in.

The problem is FBF's acoustic strumming pattern not synching up with David's rhythm of 32nd notes on the high-hat.

Until they get that whip-tight, the whole thing will sound sloppy and wonky.

Note that as soon as David stops the two-handed pattern on the high-hat for the bridge and choruses, everything sounds fine...

I didn't think so, but I might have missed something there. Maybe someone who's seen the YouTube videos can clarify? (I avoided them too, pretty much.)

I'm avoiding listening to all the new stuff but is it Paz on the pedal synths?

When I heard it for the first time in St. Paul last night, I had a brief "What the...?" moment. Not in a bad way, but just in how much it caught me off guard!

Agreed re: the album.

They've been opening several times with Cactus lately

Well I've been away this past week didn't even notice until just now there's two more songs. Dig this one big time as well especially the shuffly drumbeat from David, gives me a Pilgrim feel. Five songs in and this album is really shaping up nicely.

Now I just have to STOP listening.

I’m really into this Mrs Mark of Cain thing.

I dig this clip above!

I’m starting to feel like the new album is going to be the Cult of Ray of 2.0, which for me is a good thing.

I could be wrong

Feel like this song could've used another pass or two on the songwriting front. Pretty pedestrian, at least based on the live version.
