I would say a toss up between Manitoba and Fields of Marigold.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I cant get the search function to work.

Any thoughts...

"Go Find Your Saint" seems appropriate for a Catholic guy like myself.

Surprised nobody said "I Could Stay Here Forever"

I think I'd go with "Bullet," but if you asked me the same question every day for two weeks, you'd probably get 14 different answers.

I'll Be Blue, from July 11, 1999, at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. Rich's pedal steel, Dave's backing vocals, and Franks lead vocals were all superb on this version. If people weren't sad at my funeral already, this song would help them get there.

'The Man Who Was Too Loud'. I think this song would leave a good taste in people's mouths.

The first time I heard the version of Mr. Grieves on the popular Barfly solo performance, my immediate reaction was that it would be perfect for this exact situation.

That song...it starts and ends with "hope everything is all right," which is about the best thing I can imagine hearing from someone at their own funeral. In between:

"Pray for a man in the middle..." - you're not alive but you aren't quite gone yet.

"Do you have another opinion?" - now that he's dead is he not such an asshole anymore?

"Got finally off to finally dozing" - pretty self-explanatory, that one.

"You can cry, you can mope, but can you swing from a good rope?" - it's easy to get depressed over a death; here's a challenge to "swing" back into "good" things quickly.

Nothing is ever something.

Maybe I'll just have people handing out copies of various Frank albums on the way out. Not the ones which were mine, of course. They'll be in my coffin with me!

Does anyone remember laughter?

No "White Noise Maker"? I love that song.

"At the End of the World" is also an excellent choice.

I like "Two Spaces".

My funeral song will be (as in it's actually in my will already) the BBC Sessions version of In Heaven.

I'm only sorry I won't be there to see the looks on their faces.

Whispering Weeds. It's my new favorite Frank song.

I frickin love the begining of that song.

I wouldn't want any music at my funeral, but if the funeral home required it, and required that it be a Frank Black song, I'd like "Can I Get A Witness".

"Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." JOHN 15:14
Blackhead Posted - 04/07/2006 : 19:04:10
The song played at my funeral will depend on how I die: If I die in an airplane off the coast of Mendocino, they can play either "Coastline" or "Czar." If I die in a drunk driving mishap, they can play "Whiskey in Your Shoes"... and if I die of shellfish poisoning, "The Shrimp Song" will do. Oh yes... If the majority of funeral goers feel I've gone to hell (and people are welcome to take a vote), play "six-sixty-six..." And if it's decided that I've gone to heaven, play "Dog Gone".

If I do indeed die during a caffeine-induced axe rampage, I guess Hate Me would do the trick.

The Adventure and the Resolution seems kind of apt.

I'm just gonna have Frank play live at my funeral and let him pick the songs.

Oh, cheese. Wonderful cheese. I love you.

I wish my name was Ed. Unless he writes a song called 'Stu is Dead', but that's unlikely.
