"85 Weeks." He is a Don, and as well a Captain.

Yeah that one of my favourite tracks of all time. It's very soothing.

I've spent the past couple of days listening to 3 guys from Pedro. Big Bang Theory has naturally been played but at this moment in time I'm listening to Chinese Firedrill. This is one of my all time favourite Frank Black vocals.

ed: not the band 3 guys but minutemen.

And shit, those Arthur Alexander tribute tracks.. Old John Amos is great. Liking Go Home Girl too.

Awwwww man, Spotify was finally launched in Ireland today. Listening to some of the live tracks from 93-03 which weren't included on my own CD. This rendition of Johnny Barleycorn is great. Also cool to see Frank on so many alternative country albums.

Gonna listen to Christmass later on - I'm stoked.

If I had that on my machine I'd crank it too. I'm listening to Places Named After Numbers. The old songs, the ones that don't seem so verse chorus verse and don't last forever. I used to dance around but recently I just tap my foot. What happened to Buddy Holly was right with the under 2 minute philosophy.

Bit obsessed with space at the moment.

just listened to the Live Session (iTunes Exclusive).....now i'm cranking Announcement!

The waxworks were an immensely eloquent dissertation on the wonderful ordinariness of mankind.

Was shuffling through FB @ Wetlands and White Noise Maker came up. Wonderful. Which made me play the TotY version. Wonderful. I'm headed for the stereo store...

Sugar Daddy is playing now. One of the man's best vocals.

"Smoke Up" caught my ear this morning. I'm surprised I'd never really noticed it before.

Just read Der Golem thread, so I'm listening to "Ghetto Gates". I think I need to see the film to put the song into context.
To understand why it was sung the way it was.

SuperK.

Massif Centrale - still and always sounding awesome.

I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

Ghetto Gates. Amazing song. Kind of an evil vibe to this one. I don't know if it's a major to minor chord change, but there is something about this song...

I like it when my mum recognises the songs I play and likes them. Handyman, Dirty Old Town,....

Here's another that's soothing my sunday right now. Eve of Destruction.

Yeah but speeded up you know? Please tell me I'm not mad. I've played it to two friends and neither could hear it.

Santo's great. Reading the above made me dig out the B Sides cd. Just listened to Bailey's Walk - perhaps the most extreme Frank vocal ever. Is it brilliantly unhinged or just bad? Not sure, but it's a good tune anyway.

Godspeed

I used to not love baileys walk, brick is red, and navajo know but now i play them far more than many of the songs on the best of.
