Alright Vilainde.... been busy setting up a new school here in Beijing..... things are pretty hectic.... how are you doing?

Just the good ole boys, never meaning no harm,
that all you ever saw
been in trouble with the law,
since the day they were born

Hey Stuart! Where had you been?

I hope Frank never plays 'Kiss my Ring' live as that will be just the excuse 'The Clopser' needs to get onstage and perform himself!

Hi All,

Long time no speak..... Honeycomb is very good from what I have heard so far. Someone sent it to me, all 19 songs!

I just hope Honeycomb sounds pretty, then ugly and
then pretty again.

"Sing for joy, sing for laughs, ..." are lyrics for Sing For Joy's chorus.

That just proves that it's someone who had heard the song, not necessarily Frank himself.

I'm not sure I follow... are you saying you want the songs to be less personal in general? Or that you just don't agree with the subject adressed in this particular song?

does anyone else feel...
....like this album is Dylan when he discovered christianity/got married

Faint glimmers but nothing to write home about

VIOLET Lyrics

violetx2
violet is the colour for me,
halfway between the blood and the sky
everything i want to see

violetx2
violet's the shakra for me
[key of bead] on top of her hair
seeking divinity

on my way to another place
i stop long enough to breathe

violetx2
violet's the flower for me
ancient greece symbol of love
a flower of fertility x3

Mark Plati, like Reeves Gabrel, has done a fair amount of session/production work with Bowie in recent years. He also toured with him live until recently, when abandoned David for Robbie Williams. No joke.

who is mark plati? isn't it dave grohl on that track? or is mark plati also?

Yes, drums/vocals were by Dave Grohl
but Mark Plati played bass, plus he had a mixed by & co-produced by credit as well as a part song-writing credit on Jewel..

And it's hard to be a human being, and it's harder as anything else, and I'm lonesome when you're around, and I'm never lonesome when I'm by myself, and I miss you when you're around.

No, I'm not kidding. I think it'd be great. I imagine Frank singing it upper register, instead of Hazelwood low. Maybe plaintif upper register, like on Caribou.

Kim and Frank do marvellous covers. Who else can get away with covering the Beatles and making it work?

I'm not sure if you were kidding, Alpha, but Frank and Kim on "Some Velvet Morning" would be out of this world. Only Kim should do the Lee H. part while Frank takes Nancy's.

If we can assume this is the final track-list [subject to change], let's hope the missing pieces of the Honeycomb puzzle below find a home on a future release too. Please FB, don't let them be forgotten:

HWY TO LOWDOWN
SAD MAN'S SONG
KISS MY RING
WHERE THE WIND IS GOING
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO FUNK [as in, my life is in storage / funk]
I’VE BEEN ALL AROUND THE WORLD aka NEEDLE IN MY ARM

I wish 'Violet' was attributed (Cobain/Love) that would be such a funny cover!

i tunes doesn't use mp3s - and i was actually hoping it DOES go on iTunes - eventually they'll wind up on cd (like the "exclusive" EP) and my iPod is my new best friend, so i don't mind them being iTunes exclusives - with the eventual CD release (as long as iTunes or FB himself via the forum presents us with some liner notes )

He quotes J. Carrey: Frank said once his fave actor was Jim Carrey, he said something like "timeless talent".
All those songs left over. I just hope they'll be given on an extra CD for european edition or make it as B sides of a single (like single+3 or 4 unreleased tracks). My only hope is that they won't end up on I tunes. Man, I hate not having a real CD and I hate MP3's shitty sound.

Personally i can barely wait for the follow up to SMYT, that record was genius and i can't even imagine what the nashville made Honeycomb will treat our ears to. But patience is a virtue so wait i will. Hopefully in the pouring sun.

Personally I don't recognize the Man's style.

What happened to Highway to Lowdown? Seriously, that was a great title for an intro.

Thank God, Violet made the final cut. ;)

Still no news of the release date? Maybe Jon Tiven will have time to post again soon. What ever did happen to those vocal overdubs, Jon? Personally, I think it is a tragedy that Kiss my Ring didn't make the final cut.

Interesting. As long as DARK END OF THE STREET is still there, I am happy.
