Hey kids,
Thought I'd check in on my forum buds (Apples, Monkey boy, etc.). Haven't been around much lately. I guess because I'm much less of a couch potato during the summer. That, and the fact that I've found a real live woman willing to have sexual relations with me.
My Brother and nephew are in town this week so I'm trying to entertain them. We went surfing the first few days. Sunday we chilled. By Monday we were sitting on the couch staring at each other. I've developed a cold, so today they rented a car and are heading north to check out a baseball game and go to six flags in Vallejo Ca. I have no interest in either of those activities.
I went to the California mid state fair the other day and got my fill of fat, ignorant Americans. Sadly, it seems they are starting to out weigh real people. It sucks to live in a country that has no real culture to speak of. Everyone gets their personality from whatever's hot on television that week. I have people tell me that is our culture but it's not really culture, is it?
As for the people that go to this fair... There's nothing funnier than the sight of a fully attired cowboy (hat and all) driving down the street in their Toyota Camry, with plastic American flags all over their car.

Must see movie!
NAPOLEON DYNAMITE... Go see it tonight!!! I saw it three times in less than a week. It's hilarious!

check out the other thread i've been posting in tonight, i linked to a bunch of great comedians.

thanks for the correction. my grammer is terrible. spent most of english 12 makin sure i had batteries for my walkman... so that i could learn Klingon. give me some names of these comedians you speak of. open mike night for comedians is one my favorite things to get wasted to and watch. sometimes painful, sometimes not.
Ebb Vicious Posted - 08/11/2004 : 18:36:27
you mean 'would've' as in 'would have'.

i'm being half sarcastic. he did manage to be funny while talking about serious issues which 99.9% of comedians don't do. but there are other comedians who do, and make me laugh more consistently. bill hicks was hit or miss a lot.
cindy lou Posted - 08/11/2004 : 18:34:06
hey ebb,

have you seen any of bill hicks videos? there some great stuff there. i'm a fan of his work. would of enjoyed seeing him live. i believe your just being silly and ruffin up some feathers, no?
Ebb Vicious Posted - 08/11/2004 : 18:13:17
i can't believe it took me so long to read past the first sentence of the thread.

what a lame circle jerk it is, too. insulting each other then quickly back peddaling and playing nicey-nice. grow a spine.

also, bill hicks was very mediocre as a comedian and not that impressive as an intellectual.

Wow! I didn't expect to cause so much commotion.
Actually I like Erubus. He's intelligent and he makes the place interesting (You know, most rednecks are really decent people, once you get to know them.)

Most of all, I really just enjoy using my "Shut The Fuck Up" picture whenever possible.

So, hey everybody!

Someone said something about hoping Steve Carell(I think that's how you spell it, from the Daily Show) was going to start starring in his own movies. I think he's playing the lead in a Get Smart movie, I think I read that somewhere.

Thanks Carolynanna and floop. Now I'm all embarrassed and shit.

bus-dawg?

Tre, you and I are probably not so different, just aimed in different directions. (See, I wanted to say "possessed of convergent vectors".) I enjoy debate, argumentation, and even abuse, when I feel I'm getting the better of it.

Here, it started at the top of this thread with condescension to middle America, which I can't claim to love but which I will often defend if nobody else will. Then I made the mistake of some snide, oblique remarks, for which I got thumped, pretty hard. So I thumped back. Nothing I'm proud of. Probably not the last time it'll happen. People are free to put down America and Americans. I do it myself, but I must reply when it gets a rise out of me. Peace (Through Superior Fire Power).

Bovine: Big Fat Cow, big fat indulgent herd like america

I have I'm afraid often found you to be both rude and dismissive

Hence my "childish slamming" I figured it was probably a dig, just because you wrap your "fucking retard" style insults in literary frippery does not make you less of an ebb

Yeah, I'm a violent psycopath, grr, look at me carving up strangers with butchers knifes.. tre is enjoying this too much.. she is crazy..

Or maybe she's had a really fucking bad day

And I think KoK was refering more to your cerebral cortex blah than anything, which you have to admit, is really pretentious. I dislike that.

So which of the basket case twins are you? I'd guess you'd be the one with legs who can talk with words

Erebus, I guess I did misunderstand your "joke" for which I am sorry, please accept my most sincere of apologies, for real I mean that. I went on the defencive, but I often feel I have to, you have made digs in the past.

I was making what I take to be a joke. You referred, dismissively I felt, to "bovine america", to which I replied, ironically I thought, with a reference to press on massive UK medication, implying that perhaps it is the UK which is bovine, sedated, ... get it?

Speaking of irony, you compare me to ebb, when in fact I have never treated posters as rudely as he and you routinely do, and then, to top it off, KoK feels free to tell me to shut up, a standard ebb move, which you of course applaud.

Further, though you admittedly had no clue what I was talking about, you embraced your ignorance as entitlement to slam me in the most arrogant of manners. Frankly, that bespeaks a mind-set most grow out of around the age of six.

For someone who purports to not give "a flying fuck", your statements testify to a rather violent emotional condition.
n/a Posted - 08/11/2004 : 12:02:23
erebus, today, you mistake me for someone who gives a flying fuck

Go ahead, eat the press, digest the bits you fancy and then spit it out for everyone to see, just don't expect me to care.

All I read was blah blah blah trace blah blah blah possible blah blah blah conspiracy mass medication blah blah blah

I still don't see your point.

Howdy!

I've yet to see it as it hasn't come to my town's local theater yet..(and probably never will..) So I'll either watch it when I'm in Columbus sometime or when it comes out on DVD.

And also, in some ways it is "culture." I mean, they are "culturing" the fat cells inside of their body.

Report: Prozac Found in Britain's Drinking Water

Sun Aug 8, 2004 7:48 AM ET

LONDON (Reuters) - Traces of the anti-depressant Prozac have been found in Britain's drinking water supply, setting off alarm bells with environmentalists concerned about potentially toxic effects.

The Observer newspaper said Sunday that a report by the government's environment watchdog found Prozac was building up in river systems and groundwater used for drinking supplies.

The exact quantity of Prozac in the drinking water was unknown, but the Environment Agency's report concluded Prozac could be potentially toxic in the water table.

Experts say that Prozac finds its way into rivers and water systems from treated sewage water, and some believe the drugs could affect reproductive ability.

A spokesman for Britain's Drinking Water Inspectorate said Prozac was likely to be found in a considerably watered down form that was unlikely to pose a health risk.

"It is extremely unlikely that there is a risk, as such drugs are excreted in very low concentrations," the spokesman said. "Advanced treatment processes installed for pesticide removal are effective in removing drug residues."

But environmentalists called for an urgent investigation into the findings.

Norman Baker, environment spokesman for the Liberal Democrats, said it looked "like a case of hidden mass medication upon the unsuspecting public."

"It is alarming that there is no monitoring of levels of Prozac and other pharmacy residues in our drinking water," he told the Observer.

The Environment Agency has held a series of meetings with the pharmaceutical industry to discuss any repercussions for human health or the ecosystem, the Observer said.

Prescription of anti-depressants has surged in Britain. In the decade up to 2001, overall prescriptions of antidepressants rose from 9 million to 24 million a year, the paper said.
