So, this has probably been on here before, infact im sure i remember replying to it, but i thought id bring it up again.

What albums do you love to listen to on your walkman/mp3/minidisc/ipod/whatever??

What albums give you that kick traveling to work, walking around or wherever?

Mine are :
Radiohead - Hail To The Thief
Frank Black - TOTY
Muse - Origin of Symmetry
Rival Schools - United

They are my main ones anyways. Really give me a boost, and make me smile..make you want to start singing along, or playing air guitar/drums....

Just thought I'd throw that in there...

I was fuming at work last week, I'm almost always alone at night, I put on NoMeansNo 0+2=1, the title track, and it made me very happy.

"If one in every four animals in the world is a beetle, maybe one in every four people in the world is a DUMB #*@%."

Big MP3 player, Jazz mostly, lots of FB & FB&C, TOTY gets lots of play (Sir Rock-a-bye, track repeat until necessary).

I forgot to bring my music last night and I just about didn't make it through the drudgery.

The last couple of days I was playing the Clash, Sandanista ("I've got my motorcycle jacket, but I'm walkin' all the time", "Charlie don't surf...") and London Calling ("I've been beat-up, I've been thrown out...").

Hey, I responded like sunday!!!

Ive been cut off from the internet, and at college I can not access web based email...and so i reply sporadically.

Apologises to everyone who thinks im ignoring them!!

And no, that wasnt the thread I was thinking of...see its different, hes talking about strictly DRIVING. Like on a car stereo and stuff, im talking about walkman type stuff...so yeah, it wasnt that, it was one from ages ago i remember. meh, no worries.

Hey, just so you dont get upset, ill send you my college address, and i can check that from everywhere, ok?

Just thought I'd throw that in there...

Besides all of those mentioned (which I would definitely need), "Gish" by The Smashing Pumpkins is so completely forceful and awesome. That would be the last thing I'd want to hear. (No offense to my beloved Frank.)

Frank's band is better than your band. Sing it.

Yep, that's the one, only recently got it after years of searching.
Hasn't been off my walkman since.

Well seeing as I the only means of listening to music I have at present is through my discman with headphones, I fell I can answer this question with impunity….

But my favourites are those which have the most power – I really enjoy listening to music on headphones, but I really really miss hearing music through my stereo back home – nothing can compete with the sound coming through the pair of B&W 504’s…unbelievable.

But anyways:
Pixies – audio rip of 01/05/1988 DVD gig
Dirty Three – horse stories
Ben Harper - fight for your mind
Cat Power – myra lee
Mogwai – lee’s palace 27/05/2002
Nirvana – 31/10/1991 (I’m not much of a nirvana fan, but this gig is phenomenal)

These are some key albums I have listened to a lot while driving in recent to semi-recent times:

New Order - Best of...
Reggie and the Full Effect - Under the Tray
Grateful Dead - American Beauty (just very recently)

There's plenty of others, but I've listened to those excessively. The Dead record is something I've just been listening to the last few days, ever since I saw the Freaks and Geeks where Mr. Rosso gives Lindsay the copy of American Beauty.

Here's my list:

Ian Hunter - "You're Never Alone With a Schizophrenic" (1979) or "Welcome To The Club" (1980)
Alex Harvey - "The Mafia Stole My Guitar" (1979) (great jazz-tinged, harder rocking record, I like to listen to this in the morning.)
Sensational Alex Harvey Band - "Next" (1973), or "SAHB Stories" (1976)
Nazareth - "No Mean City" (1979), "Malice In Wonderland" (1980), or "Sound Elixir" (1983)
Badfinger - "No Dice" (1970)
Lou Reed - "Lou Reed" (1972), "New Sensations" (1984), or "Set The Twilight Reeling" (1996)
John Cale - "Vintage Violence" (1970)
Frank Black - "Cult of Ray" (1996)
FB&TC's - "Devil's Workshop" (2002)
David Bowie - "The Man Who Sold The World" (1970) or "The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" (1972)
Small Faces - s/t (1970) (They would later change to just "Faces". This album is commonly mis-titled "First Step".)

That's all I can think of now. I'm sure there's lots more, but those are some of my fav albums by my fav artists. So I think I've pretty much covered all the bases. :)

I like the new Hope Of The States record for this, also Low, Joy Division (cheery music for first thing in the morning), or the Franz Ferdinand.
