What if Scottie Pippen started in place of Rick Fox on the Lakers?

This is the sticky place to display your thoughts on the NBA playoffs; no holds barred.

Loved the Pixies reference today. Loved the fact that he likes good music. Loved the speedy love. Loved a lady. It's been good day.

and you are ill prepared to fight
living in a world of soft and white
in air conditioned battle zones
I pity you!

You're talking about the man who wrote this book

Go Sox!

I will not sit by silently and watch this homage to speedy stand!

(Crispy thanks for pointing out this article. For those who don't want to scroll thru the whole thing, here's the Pixies reference: "Poor Vick is like the Pixies hearing people buzzing about Nirvana for the first time.")

Oh yeah, also, this is (sadly) obviously not Seattle's year. Just in case you hadn't figured that out yet.

Nothing is ever something.

It may seem strange to bring this thread back in the middle of December, but if anyone remembers this:

Literally the very end of the article is what will matter to people on this board. If you want to bother looking at a nerdy Pixies analogy just scroll to the very bottom.

I offer a tip of my cap, my speedy prairie friend, for turning me on to Bill Simmons, I'm now a regular reader.

Nothing is ever something.

They didn't pick him, they traded Jamison for him on draft day. I want them to get someone like Rashad Mccants or Hakim Warrick, but they'll probably pick some gangly white dude who showed lots of potential in Europe. He'll be a tenacious rebounder, but have no discnerable offensive skills (cause TO has so many scorers already....). Oy vey.

If Toronto makes a terrible pick like last year, I will be dissapointed, and then kill Rob Babcock.

.....and so it was.

Looking ahead to next week, right now it looks like we are leaning toward Bogut. Plus there should be someone OK still around at #36. The Porter firing was totally by suprise, something must have went down while they were working out Bogut and Williams last weekend...

I did. For some reason, no matter how many times I logged in last night, it wouldn't 'stick' so it made me re-enter each post. Not doing it today though so *shrug* thanks though : )

not a fan of baseball, little (ok a LOT) too slow for me
I know what'll help fill the void though - nba classic games!!!

With OLN and Tivo I have pretty much all I can watch for the month of July. Go Ivan Basso!

I actually love baseball, but having been a lifelong fan of the texas rangers, well, maybe you can understand. See Chan Ho Park 8 run 1st inning the other night, and "ace" Kenny Rogers getting lit by the angels to culminate the sweep. Consequently, I will wait to live vicariously theough the teams in the playoffs as I do every year.

A tear, kids. A tear. No more ball 'till October... Draft on tuesday! Okay, draft picks. Who thinks the Bucks will take Bogut?
