Jessica Simpson.
She can't sing and when she DOES sing she makes these horrible poop faces and throws her hands all around like she is standing on the third rail, and she just generally bugs me. Also, she is spending money like she will always have it which makes her not only a ditz but just stupid. Her TAKE MY BREATH AWAY cover is what has mainly inspired my hate.
So, in conclusion: Shut up, Jessica Simpson!

Simon, BBC4 is not bad at all. Watched a documentary analysing Mozart's Piano Concerto in D Minor last night. Pressed the red button and it had a kind of running commentary running along the bottom of the screen.....well I enjoyed it anyway.
Freeview is only about £75...and you can buy crappy jewellery on three crappy auction channels..and you watch children's tv all day long.

I think it's bullshit that the Brits get tits on regular TV. That's no fair. I remember when NYPD Blue debuted, there was a big hooplah about that show because they showed naked asses. I remember seeing ads in the paper like "BOYCOTT NYPD BLUE!" before it was even released...talk about great publicity!

I saw something on TV the other day about how pervasive all the sexual things we see are - but what about all the violence? Now they can't show anything very sexual without some controversy but at 9:00 on most channels you can find people being shot, ripped apart under a bus, or stabbed repeatedly. Welcome to CSI, America's number 1 show!

I honestly have a hard time watching any t.v. at all anymore. I think it's because of all the morons that are on it. I believe three or four of them (out of a million) have been mentioned on this thread and of course I whole heartily agree.
Even when there is something interesting on. ie. the Family guy, South Park, PBS, almost anything on the History Channel, it's still a battle just to make it through all the godamn comercials trying to sell crappy products to the crappy people. ie. everyone on earth.
Watching t.v. just pisses me off.

Even if we did have these shows on our telly I wouldn't watch them. A huge swathe of popular culture is passing me by. I probably watch about 5 or 6 hours of TV a week and most of that would be the news, Newsnight, documentaries like Horizon, cutting edge sitcoms like The Office, the odd bit of sport and an occasional film. Casualty - never seen it. Coronation Street - never watched it. Saturday Night telly - avoid like the plague. Pop idol - no thank you. Big Brother - pointless. It's fun sometimes having discussions with big tv watchers. They're amazed that I have no knowledge of the big rating soaps yet they in turn would not have watched (or ever heard) of Newsnight Review.
We've just bought a Freeview box though. I have to admit to watching a bit of that Bid up tv. What's her name from Bucks Fizz was selling some dodgy looking jewellry (skull rings or something). It's staggering to think that people buy enough stuff off these programmes to keep them on air.
How about one of the American FB.net members explaining who the three miscreats are in this thread. I might be able to raise my geek rating then. |
