There seems to be a variety of introductory threads on display at the moment: but, does anyone actually remember their own first post?
I think mine was something fairly inauspicious like, how do I contact FB. Its quite a common one. I can imagine none of you realising at the time what a huge proportion of your life you'd spend attempting to ignore my inane bantering. Fnar fnar.
We'll assume the moderators were sending telepathic messages, long before Al Gore invented the internet, right?

i just put something really nondescript like "the" and said "search message and title" and looked for the oldest one archived. and my profile says i joined 10/1/02, and thats from 10/07/02, so its damn near close

It's hard to know for sure, I remember reading stuff from well before that and thinking about responding, but I don't remember if I did or not. When you lurk so long, the line gets a little blurry about when you were actually posting and when you were thinking about it.
Also funny to go back and look at all the people who used to call me Cult of Ray (ahem, Carolyn) by accident.
And nice to see the Search engine working really solidly.

You'd have to look in the archives for posts you made and compare dates, but I'm not sure it'd even be possible if you didn't start a thread or remember vaguely where your first post was made/what it was about.

Mine was probably a reply to one of the generic song discussion threads (song interpretations, favorite FB/Pixies songs, "What do you think of this song?", etc.). I didn't really post much at all until I took over the Survivor threads, and I rarely even looked at the General Chat section until even later than that.
