I don't have any Pixies memorabilia.
I often forget Charles' full real name.
I don't know where he lives, not even if it's in the US.
I don't know where he was born, or how old he is exactly.
I don't know how many times he's been married.
I just know Violet's name because she has a musical project and she sang in Bluefinger.
I don't know the names of any of his kids or dogs.
I never know where in the world he is at any given time.
I ignore 19 out of every 20 interviews with any member of the Pixies.
I think I have read just two interviews with Frank and another two with the Breeders in my whole life.
I don't know if Kim is christened just "Kim" or "Kimberly."
I know Kelley exists because she is also a musician. Oh, she likes knitting. I know that.
It took me four years after release to watch Loud Quiet Loud.
I have a documentary/interview with the Breeders I downloaded years ago and still haven't seen.
Maybe I'm not such a good fan?
But wait.
I have all of their albums and EPs.
I know the lyrics to most of their songs.
Frank Black is at the top of my list of favorite artists on Last.fm, with more than twice as many scrobbles as the second place (The Breeders). The Pixies is fourth, "Frank Black and the Catholics" is fifth.
But no memorabilia. Nope.

i find it nice that i can miss 3 weeks and still catch up re;lativily quickly. i frequent audiokarma, having recently begun revitalizing my vinyl collection and setting myself up with a decent stereo system, and there are a thousand new threads every day and i can never find what i need so its easier to just start a new thread, get answer, and move on. FB.net has always been that way, even in busy times 3 or 4 pages of new topics makes for a few hours reading at most....and when its slow its fun to revive old topics.

Interesting. I like forums, the few I check out seem pretty lively.
The design of this place is really pleasing to the eye and I also like how you don't have to register to read the messages, I dislike when forums do that. Maybe fi there's more doings in the FB and/or Pixies realms, this place will be more active. |

While I'm not a fan of your scatological chronicles, I appreciate your efforts to revitalize this place. I like this board, I enjoy reading comments on the music, as well as the off topic ramblings. I've gotten good book recommendations from here, as well as learning of new music.
I hope this board continues. C'est tout for now... |
