Anyone else get down to a bit of this from time to time?

I'm partial to a bit of Autechre myself, and I just recently got into Monolake and Robert Henke, some experimental technologists from Germany.

Just listening to this album now which you can tune into for free on myspace. Connect this to your best speakers and lie back.

The Mahler Symphony X recomposed by Matthew Herbert, released last year on Deutsche Grammophon, totally blows my mind.

Just sampled a few tracks on iTunes and it sounds more classical than electronic to me. Reminds me of some of the 2001 soundtrack though, which is a good thing.

I'm serious about the Varese. C'mon.. has no one here really heard of him before? He is the grandfather of modern electronica.

Autechre have a new album out called Oversteps, just checking it out now on 3voor12. More of the usual, but still sounds pretty interesting and weird. They could make a bit more of an effort with their album covers I think.

Most of the music I listen to is experimental electronic stuff.
Received yesterday: Deepchord presents Echospace - The Coldest Season (minimal dub techno); Aaron Martin & Machinefabriek - Cello Recycling / Cello Drowning (ambient/drone/whatever); L/M/R/W - Drifts (same); On (=Sylvain Chauveau+Steven Hess+Deathprod)- Your Naked Ghost Comes Back At Night (same)

What about "Poeme Electronique" by Edgard Varese? People tend to give me weird glances when I roll through the neighborhood bumping that out of my car.

I love Robert Hood's "Minimal Nation", "Internal Empire" as well as EPs from that era. Which is, like, 1994 :)
