Hi guys,

Next week I´ll fly to Las Vegas for 5 days, sadly is for business and I won´t have a lot of free time to spend, any touristic place recommended? I don´t like to gamble, I read about an helicopter tour to the grand canyon, it worth?

Where is a good place to buy electronics?

Gracias!!

Salu2

Christian in Vegas!!! I'm glad you're having a great time!!! Hey, remember not to get married! :D
If you go to an electronics store could you please ask how much are the Ipods? (Classic, 120GB, Black)

Hoy hicieron 32 grados en Stgo. y para mañana se pronostican 33°!!!

Low 80's? You should experience the summer when it is 110.

That's very good.

They don't have Fish Tales.

How good is Fish Tales? It has a trailer.

a couple people have told me this "pinball museum" is cool. if you're into pinball it sounds like the holy grail of pinball. and you can play all the games

And avoid Katy Perry at all costs!

Floop, I´ll stay in Mandalay Bay Hotel.

Excellent! I love mexican food, usually i maka my own tacos and quesadillas.

Seems I´ll have fun :D

Right, "didn't go to the Grand Canyon."
How did I misread that.

I would go to Penn & Teller.

where are you staying ccuadros?

i forgot to mention, on the restaurant front. Border Grill is also good (another transplant from LA). also, out of towners are often fond of In N Out burger. there's a big one in Vegas. if you feel compelled to find traditional Mexican tacos there's a place called Tacos Mexico that's actually pretty good.

Stratosphere roller coaster seems very cool, I´m going to try it.

I'm waiting on a National Park pill to kick in

it's liqui-gel so it shouldn't take long

hmm... Yellowstone
floop Posted - 10/17/2009 : 13:30:09
that's kind of like the "California Adventure Park" at Disneyland. it's a 'California'-themed park that includes Disneyfied replicas of many California sight-seeing destinations (including the Venice Beach boardwalk)

you know, so you don't have to actually go to those places
danjersey Posted - 10/17/2009 : 12:32:27
I'm sure Las Vegas has a Grand Canyon replica thats just as good

No, I still haven't been to the Grand Canyon ever, but that Skywalk looks freakin cool.

The grand Canyon bus/helicopter rides were gonna be like $700 + for me and my son I think it was, so I blew off doing them.

I want to go back with an adult mainly for the restaurants as well. Ate at Tao which was good, but not radically different from what I can get here in Dallas.

ps, a good place to buy electronics is Fry's, which apparently there is one in Vegas

darwin Posted - 10/17/2009 : 11:45:22
Don't eat at Circus Circus, but the dogs and Heineken's next door at Slots of Fun aren't a bad deal.
floop Posted - 10/17/2009 : 11:42:44
don't increase your bet when you're down. this is good advice that i never follow

if you're not planning on drinking and gambling excessively or going to strip clubs i can't really help you. i know the roller coaster at NY NY is fun. the ride on top of Stratosphere is fun too.

there are actually quite a few good restaurants in Vegas. i've had many good meals at the steakhouse at the Paris. there's a Nobu in Vegas now (famous sushi restaurant from Los Angeles).. Spago. i think the Bellagio buffet is semi overrated. if you really want to pig out on a buffet, Paris is better in my opinion.

Vegas is also a great place to go if you ever have the inkling to withdraw all your money from your bank account, purchase sacks of cocaine, hire a few hookers (of mixed ethnicity) and drink yourself to death
hammerhands Posted - 10/17/2009 : 09:19:43
What happens in Vegas stays on your conscience forever.

haha.

My friend always says he would love to see the pawn
shops.

Never split 10s and hit on 16 if the dealer is showing more than 7 or higher.

just did a google search for Las Vegas Concerts: here is one link:

http://www.lvol.com/events/concerts.html

Looks like U2 is playing 10/23. Their current tour is really cool (albeit very staged) with the $40 million stage they have. I would only recommend the general admission floor tickets if you are tall enough. People that were up high in the stadium here in Dallas show had a bad time and bad sound, but we were close and it was really cool looking (and I was a big U2 fan back in the day).

Hi, I have only been to Las Vegas once and it was a long time ago. I don't know if they do this for individuals and not groups, but there was a group from work that got to drive race cars on a race track. I don't have the details for it though.

I also don't know any good places to buy electronics for sure. But there is a national chain called Best Buy that's pretty good.

Have fun ccuadros!
ccuadros Posted - 10/17/2009 : 06:20:30
thanks superabounder, very interesting, I´ll stay in mandala hotel.

Where can I check if there is a good concert in those days (sadly wont be FBF or Pixies )?
