I don't know what you all think about rap but there is one song that I have got into this year, Ice Cube's Go To Church, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQmlJOSo4-c

Why not talk about this?

Reggie L, Did you use any English word in the last post? That's my problem with rap. There is too much of an evolutionary jump in language for me to be able to understand any of it (since I didn't grow up with it).

I only saw one episode of that new "comedy" californication with Duchovny but he was complaining about people who use LOL out loud. I was instantly sympathetic.

What about Jay-Z, Kanye West, 50 cent, OutKast, Chamillionaire, Nas, Lil Wayne, Devin the Dude, Z-Ro, etc.. Lets try this again please:)

Better to let them hear and say it? They'll know it's all about context. It is after all the finest word in the language. Anyone who's got anything to say says it.

I feel a fucking reproach coming on I know cos I already tried this argument out on my sister.

I don't mind my kids hearing the fuck word. In fact, I'm happy they know the word and have a grasp for how it's used -- along with all the other words. But I surely don't let them use it yet. (They're 5 and 8.) That's where I draw the line.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

Run DMC, NWA, and the Beastie Boys. One of my friends listens to what he calls "underground rap", some of it's actually pretty good.

i kinda enjoy ODB once in a while. the older stuff is better. public enemy, dre, easy-e. i also like buju banton who is more reggae, but still a little rap-like.

i say the above meaning a while as a very long time. like maybe a year. once a year i'll ask a friend to break out the old dirty bastard or the like.
