Tacos haven't changed much lately.

I think this thread needs updating, I'm sure much has happened in tacoland over the last 5 years.

I went on a field trip to Mexico Town for Spanish class the other day. Honestly, the tacos weren't all that great. I mean, better than say, Taco Bell, but I still wasn't that impressed. The tamales were good, tho.

You're the bees knees but so am I.

you and me both.

i actually sent him an email because there was this pathetic Top 10 Tacos list on some online site recently for LA, and i had to send it to him to share how appalling it was. he responded in agreement.

we didn't get into why he's not posting. . i hope everything is ok

I'm worried about the Great Bandini. He hasn't posted anything for over 2 months.

nice taco hunting

I actually took a photo of tacos I had yesterday morning just for this thread. My phone is a crappy cameraphone though. Well, these were delicious barbacoa tacos...They were really small, so I went back for 3 more after devouring these. The barbacoa and fajita ones were really good. Actually the bistec one must have had the hotter sauce because I barely could eat that one. I'll definitely go back to this place again. It's been there for years but I had never tried it until yesterday. The pork taco was just ok: not enough flavor to the meat unfortunately.

I'd rather be anywhere or doing anything
floop Posted - 10/28/2007 : 15:04:24
hey BLT, have you been to this place yet? brand new...

if you like fish tacos it's definitely worth checking out. their tacos are a dollar

i've never heard that, but it could be true. a bus would make for a great taco stand. or, it could be the writer was trying to be funny, if somewhat racist, by suggesting that members of the hispanic community must own the car now (since, commonly, they have been known to be very fond of Chevy automobiles), and, if it is now owned by members of the hispanic community, it must be parked at a taco stand in East LA, since, of course, that's all hispanic people in Los Angeles do is eat at taco stands.

which is pretty much true, for me as well

This thread is bumming me out. The only good tacos in Canadastan are the tacos I make and they are not that great. Oh for a couple of hours at a seaside taqueria, squeezing some lime onto a swordfish taco or two. Who, besides Michael Stipe, knew I'd miss living in California?

Now i'm back home in Los Angeles with some time to kill.

Thank you for supplying me with an itinerary.

the late night taco stands in Korea serve baby octopus and chicken gizzards. anything tastes good when you're drunk

ok, it's not really a taco stand, but kind of

I also wanted to ask you about Coke. The taco hunter often writes about the coke and how it goes well the meal. Do you get coke ever or beer or other?

I don't know if the Great Taco Hunt guy talks about it (probably does), but at some Mexican restaurants you can get Cokes bottled in Mexico, where they still use sugar rather than corn syrup.

Last saturday there was a guy from Indiana at a friend's party, he told us that our coke in France was better because of real sugar.

In the comments on several of the reviews there are these vegetarians who say shit like "when I used to consume flesh 15 years ago I remember their tacos were the best" Shut the fuck up. No one gives a fuck what a vegetarian has to say about carne asada or whatever. Pretentious fucks. There's not enough lettuce in the world to stuff in their faces so they'll shut up. You're a vegetarian, cool. But stay the fuck out of it, no one cares about you and you look like an asshole.

I've seen the guy writing about Orange Crush and how well it goes with tacos. I have to agree with that. If there's no beer available I'd go for an Orange Crush or a Fresca.

heh. i asked the tortilla lady if i could take her picture. i felt sort of akward asking, but hey, i was worth it.

i usually get coke with tacos, but then i also like horchata too (the mexican rice drink). horchata really hits the spot with tacos. but then, so does a beer:

today i had multiple coronas with my tacos. i'm on vacation

Maybe not the same place because this place is in Burbank, not NoHo.

How wild. In the SF Bay Area, you can throw a rock and hit a taqueria, but I don't recall ever seeing a taco truck. Now I'll keep my eyes peeled. That's one thing I'll definitely miss when I move back to the east coast - no taquerias.

Which is weird. Mexicans have migrated all over the country, but it seems like you can only get good Mexican food in CA or the southwest...
