I just checked when I registered for this site, it was nearly 5 years ago. Granted I hardly post nowadays and I hardly listen to Frank or the Pixies either. Makes me think how much has changed since the first time I posted here in terms of music my life etc

I joined on 26 September 2002, which means it's now been upwards of five years. It really doesn't seem like it.

5 Years Ago:
Age: 24
Occupation: Unemployed
Marital Status: Unmarried, but I'd been dating my girlfriend for two years.
Listening To: They Might Be Giants, XTC, Young Fresh Fellows, Camper Van Beethoven, Frank Black, Pixies

Now:
Age: 29, eleven days shy of 30
Occupation: Temporary library assistant
Marital Status: Still not married, but probably will be before too much longer. We've been discussing it a lot, but haven't set a date.
Listening To: A lot of the same stuff, really. I've been pretty consistent in my musical tastes, but I do get into new bands from time to time. Ones I've discovered since then include the Dresden Dolls, the Ditty Bops, Rilo Kiley, and the Fastbacks.

I got bored and looked through some of my old posts and I remember this being a pretty interesting post, so here is your chance to add, if you missed it first time round. I find it oddly interesting reading about how things have changed for people. Im now 24, which means I've had six birthdays since I joined this site, how depressing. Not many people have gone backwards, if any, which I suppose you would expect from a forum such as this.

You know that's just going to trigger a whole lot of posts going "I've never understood the big excitement over them blah blah blah" while those of us that understand their timeless triumphant sound (quite possibly just you and me Cheesy) kick back to "Cowboy Song" with a self satisfied smugness.

Heh, more has changed than that post suggests really. Then undergrad student, now near completing my third degree. Then lived in Birmingham, since then spent a year in Sheffield now living London wise with the best housemate ever. Then, quite horribly depressed, now sickeningly chirpy. I've also read many books and had my first hint of a suntan. Drank a lot of coffee.

I'm positively new!

[EDIT] good to see you Surfer, sounds like some good good things happening in your world.

First get the beard bit out of the way. Don't care much for beard talk. Had a beard 'bout seven eight years. Knew the exact day to shave it off (That was about six years ago). I'm like that, I know exactly when to do things. Sara said that's better, now we can see your face.
