I don't know if he'd like me to say for what specifically, so I'll leave the spilling of the proverbial beans up to him, but rest assured it is very 'congrats' worthy.

Speaking of spilling the beans, stay tuned for two of the most exciting news releases of 2006 (aside from Brian's news, of course), though I have no idea when such news will be available in a 'confirmed' format for your consumption...

While were derailing, Simmon's book on the Red Sox (Now I can Die ...) was a great read, but I'm Red Sox diehard (and I hadn't read the stuff when he originally posted it).

Totally agree with this. Like if he didn't have a least a litle myisogyny in every article, all his buddies would pants him punch him in his tiny nuts on their next Vegas trip. Grow some balls and act like a man, not a frat boy. Though reading his wife's thoughts on the world US Weekly, Lindsy Lohan and other such fluff makes you understand why he might view women in such a negative way.

Yet, I always find his observation that you can compliment certain women for being attractive (Diane Lane, the chick from Devil Wears Prada) and not others (everyone else, really) hihgly amusing and very true. Be careful who find attractive men folk, there are rules about this. Next time your girlfriend gets upset at you for thinking that Kristin from Laguna Beach is hot, listen to her explanation and then ask her about her music tastes (this is for those that a: think Kristin and her ilk are hot and b: have a lady with horrible taste).

maybe I'll kick it

Simmons is the master.

"By the way, Luis Gonzalez is like the random ninth man at a Vegas bachelor party right now -- he doesn't really know anyone, we're not sure why he's here, and now we have to pay for three cabs to go anywhere"

Oy vey, can't you people do anything with out havning your hadns held?

Simmons: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/simmons/index

As if Bill Simmons isn't already required reading. Even if you don't like sports, he mostly talks about obscure pop culture references anyway. He's even mentioned the Pixies. Though he seriously needs a punch in the neck for liking the Bravery.

maybe I'll kick it

And, incidentally, condolences to Brian on this sad day for the Mets.

Fix your damn link, speedy! That's no way to get more frankophiles reading Simmons.

The good news appears to be trickling out of its own accord as rumour, which is still all I have as well.

It probably won't make you feel any better, but Bill Simmons' running diary of Game 7 is pretty damn funny. Check it out: www.espn.com, Page 2.

Well that's just great. I hope you can use 5,000 "I Told You Bigfoot Was Real!" t-shirts, cuz that's what your getting as a wedding gift from me.

Exciting news. Lots of great moments ahead. Conrats!

A student developer is someone who's developing applications (hardware or software) for Mac, whether for themselves or for the internet. It's their way of trying to encourage people to develop Mac apps.

Saving me about $600, if I ever get around to buying it. :)

What does an apple student developer do? I get a standard student discount but not more than 10% or anything.

Well I want one of those too! But that is probably a year away for me. I'm totally pumped about buying a Mac Pro. I've wanted a Mac for years.

Congrats Brian! I hope you two have a wonderful engagement and marriage and whatever else.

You're not going to wait for the Core 2 Duos? They're supposed to be released by the end of Oct/beginning of Nov. I've been waiting to buy a Mac Pro for a while and now that I'm ready I'm stuck waiting. I hate waiting. But for a Core 2 it might be worth it. Still, I'll congratulate you anyway. A beautiful machine, Core 2 or not.

"Now you're officially my woman. Kudos. I can't say I don't envy you."

Isn't the Mac Pro they released a month ago what you are referring to? It says "Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" processors." Or you can get two 3.0GHz.

Hm, if they are releasing another new new Mac Pro I might have to wait too.

Congratulifications. Just remember not to get married only for the fame. There should be more to it than that.

I wish i could take credit, but we got engaged before the regular season ended. I just thought that Dean knowing what a big Mets fan would be congratulating me on a great win yesterday (that i was at, for the record). Hey, i rooted for Edmonton in the Stanley Cup b/c they are Canadian...

are you implying that the Mets won because you got engaged? If so, awesome. Get engaged often this october. Really. Please. I'm dying for a second subway series, but for this one to end properly, with the Mets on top.

Seriously, though, Congratulations!
