Watching the card game episode of Only Fools And Horses recently (the first one with Boycie, who wasn't initially meant to be a regular character), it really struck me how, at it's best, OFAH is so well written and warm hearted. That episode is beautifully written.

To quote my friend,

"Friends? You would have to have an IQ in the double-digits to enjoy that show."

Unless I've missed it, I can't believe noone has mentioned Early Doors, it's simply genius.

My faves are:
Early Doors
Phoenix Nights
Father Ted
Peep Show
Fawlty Towers

My Name Is Earl (i love that show)

All the shows they play on Nick@Nite; Full House, The Cosby Show, A Different World, but never Roseanne. Ugh, I hate Roseanne!

Wow, 'Saved By The Bell' is a classic. No shame in enjoying that!

Family Guy is hilarious. Sea Lab is funny too. Lots of things are funny to me, so I end up pretty much laughing all day, everyday.

Ever catch yourself smiling/almost laughing at something on TV that is sooo stupid and not funny that it is insulting to good humour? I hate that! I grab my face and try to steer the smile away. A good example would be "Saved By The Bell" or something like that. Makes me feel like I'm losing my mind.

How often do most people laugh during the average episode of their favourite sitcom? I enjoy quite a few of these sitcoms mentioned, notably the Ricky Gervais ones, but I still only get a laugh out of about 1 joke out of every 3-4 episodes of say, Family Guy. There are certain factors to consider, I might laugh more if I'm intoxicated and/or watching with friends, but I guess I just simply don't laugh as much as the average person.

Before anyone says something like "you probably just don't 'get' most of the jokes," that's probably the complete opposite of the truth. I simply can't laugh at an obvious joke. I didn't want to say that but I just had to cover my ass from that classic retort..

My favorite sitcom is maybe Jerry Stiller.

Due to my present condition and predicaments of being a crippled as a result of the fatal accident that I had, I am not able to carry out this contract because I can only walk on a wheel chair.

Anyone remember Ned And Stacey? Thomas Haden Church pwned that show. It should have just been called Ned.

Memorable line: Ned(Introducing a friend to Stacey):"This is my wife Stacey. My teenage girlfriend shot her in the head."

Did anyone see Jack & Jill? I liked it back then.
I saw the first two seasons or so and don't know if it was even continued after that.

I used to watch sitcoms. What a waste of time. I could have been writing or recording songs. I can't say I hate television, but I kind of wish I could.

I don't think I saw anyone mention Arrested Development.. Wow. I'm really loving Lucky Louie right now if it gets the time it could become one of the greats. Spaced has been mentioned and is great. Trying to think of some others... How about Newsradio? Did anyone say Newsradio?

You know I've never seen what was supposed to be funny about Only Fools and Horses. Everyone always spoons off about how it's the greatest sitcom ever but if you ask me, it's poorly scripted and acted.
'Rodney you plonker!'
Yeah, hilarious.

One Day At A Time?

With Eddie Van Halen's former wife Valerie Bertinelli?

My list:

Cheers...absolute all-time favorite. Classic.
MASH
Seinfeld
Are You Being Served...again classic. Never tire of the Mollie Sudgen and John Inman jokes.
Current shows: I love Scrubs...it bums me out that all this CSI and reality crap gets more Neilsen ratings (which is the only thing that keeps a show on the air).

I used to like Friends and although I still do it has become almost unwatchable for me due to the endless repeats on channel 4.
Black Books is probably my favourite. Just because each episode is as wacky as the last. Bernard Black is a great character!
I like Red Dwarf, Father Ted, South Park, The Office (the proper one), Phoenix Nights.
I also love Fawlty Towers but I'm glad there are only twelve episodes.

I was just watching a marathon of Three's Company earlier. That's a great show. Come and knock on our door...
The Office is great, too. I don't really like the original one, but I've only seen it a few times.
Curb Your Enthusiasm? That counts, right?
