Posted - 11/07/2007 : 09:12:21 I'd be disappointed with Jewell to be honest. He'll always be a hero for taking us up the divisions and keeping us there, as will Chris Hutchings (by Wigan fans, anyway), but by his own admission he's taken us as far as he can, so I can't see it being any different now.
[EDIT]Not that I'm totally against having Jewell back. If he comes back refreshed and ready for a scrap then fair play. But I could just see us in the same sort of position in a years time if we stay up.

Posted - 11/07/2007 : 08:18:04 Sounds likely Jewell could be comin back Stu. Odd appointment considering you were no better last season than you are this. One man is sacked the other a hero. Jewell certainly knows how to time it.

Posted - 11/05/2007 : 14:55:04 Yeah I am not sure you would have gotten great odds on that.
I am pleased with our point at Arsenal on Saturday. It was a fair result, and it's encouraging to see our closest rivals celebrate a home draw so enthusiastically.

Damn wonder how much odds I would have got on that, probably not to much. Oh well, ressurected!!

Posted - 09/20/2007 : 11:05:25 I think it will be good for us in the long term, but not in the short term. The players liked him so I am sure they will want to 'win this one for the gaffer'.

Posted - 09/20/2007 : 10:54:51 Yep, the old 'mutual consent' line.
It's awful timing too considering they play Man Utd this weekend, but who knows, we often see shock results right after a manager leaves. Players will be wanting to impress whoever takes over.
I certainly didn't see it coming though. I thought maybe in January if Chelsea weren't in a strong position then he'd leave, but not now.

They claim he did not resign, nor was he sacked. The offical line is that the relationship between the club and the manager had broken down.

Posted - 09/11/2007 : 08:25:53 Haha, he's too Heskey for his shirt!
I must admit I did think about getting an England shirt with Heskey on the back. You're right, it's a bit sad, but it's quite funny really to think that someone (probably more than just him too) was waiting for that moment. I was very proud to see him line up for England though.

Posted - 09/11/2007 : 04:50:16 I was in Wigan last Saturday and I noticed a lad with the England away top with Heskey on the back. He must have been waiting for the first Wigan player to get called up before he went out and bought it.
This is only a slight on him, but I thought, 'that's a bit sad'.

Posted - 09/10/2007 : 06:21:33 It's interesting to look back and see what we all thought of Heskey when he signed for us. I was gutted at first, but he's been well worth the money. He's been sensational for Wigan, and now Wayne Rooney will be shitting himself about his England place (okay, maybe not), but I'm proud of the Heskeylator. First Wigan player to ever start for England.

Posted - 09/01/2007 : 18:30:59 It seems a lot of pundits are now taking Liverpool seriously as contenders for the title. I don't think they are just yet, but if they keep it up it would certainly make it more interesting near the top.
Does anybody think they have genuine chance of winning the league?

Posted - 08/22/2007 : 05:59:17 Can I still post here? Bolton bloke will get sacked soon, so will Hutchings. We pay 4million for a player half as good as Hulse then theres talk of us selling Hulse for 2million hmmmm. Kenwyne Jones is worth 5million Jon Stead is worth 1million! Steven Gerrard cunts us out of 3 penaltys last season and Villa out of free kick this season just for having Gerrard on his back. Chelsea get awarded a dodgy penalty and poor old Stevie crys about it. Ref gets 1month ban. Why was no banned for the numerous atrocious decisions given against SUFC/any smaller team last season? Because its not Chelsea/Liverpool/Arsenal/Man U.
The premiership is a corrupt pile of crap.
