Posted - 02/07/2006 : 03:15:22 What records are you looking forward to hearing this year? I'll be waiting eagerly for the following:
* Danielson - Ships (May '06). New Danielson Famile with a crazy guestlist that includes Albini, Kramer, Deerfook, Sufjan Stevens and a lot more. They're also releasing a series of 7" eps on Sounds Familyre, Anticon and Kill Rock Stars. * Flaming Lips - At War With The Mystics (April?) * Death From Above 1979: no idea when the new album is gonna come out. * Galaxy 2 Galaxy: this is techno and I've been waiting for the double CD to come out for more than a year. Easily what I'm most looking forward to (right after Fastman/Raiderman obviously). * Les Wampas - Rock 'n' Roll part 9 (March '06): French punk band that those who were in the CD swap might remember. They're my fave French band ever and their new single's called 'Chirac In Jail'. * Mecca Normal - The Observer (April): yeah! new Mecca Normal album. I hope it'll be good. * Carla Bozulich - Evangelista (May): new CB project on Constellation records, including members of ASMZ and GYBE. This is gonna be my first Cst record. * Frank Black - Fastman/Raiderman (duh) * Sonic Youth: new album in June apparently. I haven't bought a single SY record since 1998 for some reason, but somehow I feel this one is gonna rule. * Daniel Johnston - Lost And Found: who know if this is gonna get released but I sure hope so. * Frank Black and the Catholics - Box Set: let's keep fingers crossed.
Any other good stuff to be released soon? Give me tips, I want some new music.
Denis

that was an April Fool´s joke (could be inspired by the guitarist leaving Korn for same reason), an interviewer rang Maynard up to ask about it and he laughed down the phone at them.

Posted - 02/09/2006 : 03:40:13 There's nothing confirmed for Bowie at all. Some talk of a new record (tentatively scheduled for the summer). Since the Reality Tour was abandoned, he's only played live twice, collaborating with the Arcade Fire. |

Posted - 02/08/2006 : 15:54:52 Definitely the new Frank and Neko albums, as well as Andy Partridge's last two Fuzzy Warbles volumes. I've also heard rumblings of new ones from Cracker, TMBG, and "Weird Al" Yankovic. I have no idea whether those will come to pass, though.
Neko's new one is going to be called "Fox Confessor Brings the Flood," I believe.

Anyway, I get the feeling the Frank record's gonna be DY-NO-MITE! |

They have Smashing Pumpkins as speculative, but they seem pretty confident of a Pixies album!

RELEASE DATES NOT OFFICIAL Although there are lots of release dates being bandied about, NONE are official as of this posting. However, in all likelihood, the CD will be released sometime in MAY, and hopefully earlier in that month as opposed to later. As soon as the date becomes official (or, as soon as I'm told that it's official) I will post it on the site, and then some of you can respond that it's old news. -- Buy your best friend flowers. There's a new Kristin Hersh solo album on the way (with the McCarricks), and a follow up to her collection of Appalachian folk songs "Murder, Misery and Then Goodnight" has been announced.
And Peeping Tom.
That's off the top of my head, can't think of anything else right now.
