Posted - 08/07/2005 : 13:54:12 I find myself playing my acoustic guitar now far often than my electric - for a long time it was the other way round, as I had lessons on electric and got to a reasonable level. If you've played guitar you'll know that there are just as many differences as similarities between the two instruments, and only now do I feel like I'm approaching a decent level on the acoustic guitar. And it got me thinking...
So: what are your favourite acoustic tracks?
Here's some of mine: Pixies - Where Is My Mind? The Smiths - Back To The Old House Elliott Smith - Needle In The Hay Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Kristin Hersh - Me And My Charms Violent Femmes - Blister In The Sun Nick Drake - Time Of No Reply

Posted - 08/09/2005 : 07:07:14 Acoustic guitars are easier for me to play. My fingers are too big for electric guitars. I also prefer the sound. |

Posted - 08/09/2005 : 06:29:33 I prefer electric to play. They both sound good in their way to listen to though. Can't really compare.

I definitely prefer the acoustic over the electric. I always thought it would be the other way.
When I learnt to play guitar it was only when i got hold of an electric did everything click. barre chords mainly. I think it was because the fretboard was thinner, made it easier on my young hands. |
