I find myself playing my acoustic guitar now far often than my electric - for a long time it was the other way round, as I had lessons on electric and got to a reasonable level. If you've played guitar you'll know that there are just as many differences as similarities between the two instruments, and only now do I feel like I'm approaching a decent level on the acoustic guitar. And it got me thinking...
So: what are your favourite acoustic tracks?
Here's some of mine: Pixies - Where Is My Mind? The Smiths - Back To The Old House Elliott Smith - Needle In The Hay Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Kristin Hersh - Me And My Charms Violent Femmes - Blister In The Sun Nick Drake - Time Of No Reply

Just a few favorites I like to play...
Simon And Garfunkel-Scarborough Fair. (I can't play it all, but that little intro is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever.)
Frank Black And The Catholics-The St. Francis Dam Disaster.
Bob Dylan-Black Jack Davy. |

I always seem to play Sea Change (song, not the whole album)by Beck when I pick up my acoustic.
Also, The Wooden Song by the Butthole Surfers, and random FB songs, obviously.

Mean what you want to mean, no rules here. Each of those has a significant and interesting acoustic part, I think.

I can only play six or seven songs, so I can't choose a fave one. But I definitely prefer the acoustic over the electric. I always thought it would be the other way.

When I learnt to play guitar it was only when i got hold of an electric did everything click. barre chords mainly. I think it was because the fretboard was thinner, made it easier on my young hands. |

Barre chords are far easier on electric guitars. At least they are on mine.

I prefer electric to play. They both sound good in their way to listen to though. Can't really compare.

Acoustic guitars are easier for me to play. My fingers are too big for electric guitars. I also prefer the sound. |
