Last year we had the poncho and the high heeled flip flops. This year we seem to be having the white gypsy/prairie skirt with ballet flats combo.

What have you seen men or women wearing lately you think is utterly daft?

This is wear you can have a good old fashioned rant (without anyone judging you while you hide in the comfort of your own home, wearing a rather dodgy Pantera t shirt and baggy cut off jeans) and un matched socks.

What a twat! I see why nobody likes A&R men.

He has some shite bands on his label too.

Don't believe the type!

And I'll sob my heart out when the tattoos, 3 day stubble, mirrored sunglasses and generally-trying-to-look-like-Elliot-Smith look goes away.

Why the hell do you think I loved LA so much?
floop Posted - 06/15/2005 : 14:23:50
i look forward to the day when the trucker hat, dickies jeans, black t-shirt, tattoos, 3-day stubble, low-top converse, mirrored sunglasses, generally-trying-to-look-like-Elliot-Smith look goes away. it's such a tired look, yet it's going stronger than ever.

It's that everyone looks like clones - driving me mad. Whenever I go out with the lads from work it's frightening. Whenever we have a big pitch or meeting they have to check with each other what they plan on wearing the following day, since they've often turned up wearing the same outfits.

i mean, everyone is conscious of fashion in some sense, whether they like it or not. even being non-fashionable can be a fashion statement. but the people who try SO HARD are the ones who crack me up (like that guy in that article)..

i think there's a difference between having style and trying really hard to have style.

i partially get it. i understand eating organic, and i understand not eating meat and chemicals etc.. but i don't believe the theory that you lose too many nutrients if you cook your food. cooking food (literally heating up) is what brings out flavor in so many foods. not cooking food is an unnecessary tragedy..

Hehe! It is a weird one. My mother thought I'd run off and joined a cult when I first tried to explain it to her (I've given up now).

i've always had that. i think this town is the capital of weird diets. almost every other person i work with is on some very specific, bizarre diet. it makes going out to lunch difficult sometimes

It also makes it a pain the ass to throw a good dinner party. So I just serve lots of booze.

OH! BRILLIANT!

floop, you are a genius, taking this thread to a different level altogether.

Raw food - what's with that?

Love those boots. Have three pairs of something almost like them. Love them.

They're not foreign to me!

Honestly, I hate shoe shopping. Shoes that seem to fit at the store often give me blisters once I've actually walked in them. At any given time, I usually have one pair of black sneakers, and one of black slip-on shoes. Actually, I DO have a pair of green Converse high-tops, which are pretty cool, but I don't wear them that much.

I was all out of luck, like a duck that died. I was all out of juice, like a moose denied.

Far too many pictures of me lately and not enough of others, so yet again -

not going to happen.

Again - we humbly request pictures. Evidence, proof, that sort of thing.

Surfer Rosa Posted - 06/10/2005 : 14:48:44
I've dug out a pair of shoes I love in summer (can't really walk much in them) but I do love them. Plus I'm needing new shoes, so please talk about the shoes. In fact Kitten it was inspired to change this into the shopping advice thread. Where do I go with summer shoes that I can walk in?

Much as I love my shit kicker boots - it's be ridiculous to do a summer in them - so what do I buy that I can walk in? I can't do my standard silly buy of no thought whatsoever I have to be slightly practical given the fact that I'm needing to watch my cash flow (especially since I also have to find a knockout dress in the next couple of weeks)

kathryn Posted - 06/10/2005 : 14:45:38
Shoes? Can I post about shoes again? You think the forum is ready for that again?
God, I went nuts a couple of days ago with those Mary Janes...
