Posted - 06/05/2005 : 12:02:57 so, admittedly, i don't really know much about STAR WARS. i never really got into it. but i went to the recent one. and i've been renting the old ones.. and it's kind of fun.
i'm sure some of you (Dean) have watched these films 10,000 times and have a zillion opinions..
is it me or did RETURN OF THE JEDI kind of suck in comparison to EMPIRE STRIKES BACK?
also, i had no idea that Leia had such a killer body until seeing RETURN OF THE JEDI, when Jabba the Hut makes her his slave and she's wearing that crazy outfit. why didn't George Lucas have her wear an outfit like that for the whole series??
so many questions... |

does anybody else think that the this scene shows lot's of resemblance to the Month Phyton scene were that knight doesn't want to give up? I could also hear Anakin say: Wait, I'll bite you to death
that thought ruined to moment for me

So why didn't Obi Wan either kill or try to save Anakin?
Because he thought he was going to die.
Then finish him off. It would be the humane and prudent thing to do (i.e. jedi not so smart).
I have to put in my thought on this. A while earlier in the movie, Obi-Wan promised "I'll do what I have to do...but I will not kill him." Obi-Wan was keeping his word, like a prudent, humane, AND honest Jedi should. Maybe it wasn't the smartest choice, but he stuck to his word. Mace Windu was an idiot, and not one to live by a Jedi vow. He was about to seriously kill Palpatine until dumbass Anakin disarmed (hee hee) him! Jedi bring justice, not enforce punishment. And I do believe, as I posted quite a while earlier, that Mace Windu was at fault and caused a lot of uncalled-for-mayhem. If he simply would have bestowed the 'Master' title on dumbass Anakin, a lot of that shit would NOT have gone down. They are never willing to completely explain to Anakin why he needs guidance, yet the Jedi council is quick to criticize him...even when he does do the dirty work they demand of him! MACE WINDU SUCKS!

No. Mace Windu is (like everybody else) Palpatine's pawn.

Why are the Jedi so stupid?
They're not. They're simply outsmarted by Palpatine.

Is Samuel Jackson to blame for it all? Would Anakin have jumped in Jackson wasn't about to do in the Sith Lord?
Why are the Jedi so stupid? Couldn't they sense anything from the Sith Lord? Couldn't they feel the stormtroopers about to switch on them?

now we know
Dean is the biggest Star Wars nerd here. I heard he gets soothed to sleep every night by a tape recording of Darth Vader's breathing, and wore a catheter to Episode III so he wouldn't miss anything.

He asks his mother who was the father and she says there was no father he jus pooped up. well in episode 3 senototr palpitine tells anikan that his master or that sith could make life by mediclrorians. I think he made anikan to be helpful on both sides to help destroy the jedi and become a lord sith
