So, here is a thread for (numerous) people who were longing for some food for thought.
What do you think about Huntington's theory of clash between civilizations.

Personally, I think his ideas are bullshit. I think he should stop playing video games, life is much more complicated. Personally, I belong to at least three of the civilizations he mentions.
It is clear that the way you separate people is politically and ideologically motivated, therefore there is nothing scientific in his approach.

I didn't read the article, but it sounds rather oversimplified to me.

that's nice. he completely ignores greece as an example of a stable democratic system and a wealthy country. not as wealthy as germany maybe but wealthier than portugal or ireland which are examples of modern western countries with his definition of western world.
